UK residents were left reeling after a crazed gray squirrel went on a wild Christmas rampage in Buckley, Wales, injuring a staggering 18 people in two days.
“Warning, vicious squirrel that attacks,” wrote Nicola Crowther in the Buckley Residents Facebook Group on Dec. 26 along with a grainy photo of the furry culprit on a fencepost. “Has bitten me, attacked my friend … and multiple other people.”
Another bite recipient, Sheree Davidson, told SWNS that she was taking out the recycling when the “psycho” squirrel jumped out at her from behind the bins and chomped her on the hand.
The nutty critter, which has since been dubbed “Stripe” after the evil character from “Gremlins,” reportedly didn’t discriminate in its attacks, lashing out at the elderly, children and pets alike, and biting them everywhere from heads to legs, SWNS reported.
Nowhere was safe, as the critter would launch at people in the gardens and even chase them down the road.
Many victims had to receive tetanus shots after getting savaged.
65-year-old Buckley resident Corinne Reynolds decided to trap the hairy hellion.
Locally known as the “bird lady,” the mom of seven had been feeding the squirrel since the summer, but decided to act after getting bitten on the hand herself, and seeing “all the Facebook posts” regarding the attacks.
“To be honest, he was giving me cause for concern with his unusual behaviour,” said Reynolds, who wondered if Stripe had “something going on inside his head like a tumour.”
In order to protect them, Reynolds snared the rogue rodent by putting out a cage in her garden filled with peanuts, Stripe’s favorite snack. The senior then handed him over to the RSPCA, which euthanized the critter, as it’s illegal to release them into the wild in the UK.

Damn people! Kill the SOB!!!
He would not last long in an American town. I can see the shotguns coming out now.
At our camp ground, a squirrel got into one of the empty camp houses through the chimney and could not get back out.
He tore that house from one end to the other. Hundreds of dollars in damages.
He attempted to claw his way through the front picture window destroying the woodwork all around the window frame.
Your story makes me think of this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6z6ixrfKgO0
That is quite a tail!
For the record, I despise squirrels. I have managed to trap and kill 10 of those little bastadges in the last 8 weeks or so. I have not done much in the last 10-14 days, but I am not done with them.
They have broken into my house 5 times in the last several years. They have destroyed my roof. They have caused thousands of Dollars in damage to my domain. I cannot even explain it all.
Be certain, I hate them, and any mercy that I may have is reserved for those poor skunks in my area. I trapped 4 of them and I released them all. They never did violence to my home and they are quite docile.
Once I capture a squirrel though, say Goodnight Irene. Those tree rodents are mental cases. The ones in my yard or area are truly aggressive. Well, I dunno if whacking just 10 is enough, so I am not going to stop. I will teach those trespassers to stay off of my property. So far so good.
It is incredible the damage that they have done to my home. It is probably $50 thousand Dollars once it is all settled.
Might have had to break out the Mosin for that one.
The RSPCA should have waited to euthanize the critter until it determined that it did not have rabies.
Did the squirrel used to be a Raiderette cheerleader and Baywatch actress?
That was my first thought - acting crazy, rabies ....
But evidently not ....
https://www.cdc.gov/rabies/exposure/animals/other.html
“Small rodents (like squirrels, hamsters, guinea pigs, gerbils, chipmunks, rats, and mice) and lagomorphs (including rabbits and hares) are almost never found to be infected with rabies and have not been known to transmit rabies to humans.”
I will teach those trespassers to stay off of my property.
***The squirrels in the backyard have been conditioned not to fear people. None of my roommates nor prior tenants did anything about them. I got pissed when their droppings ruined my chair and when I sat on it, it looked like I had pooped my pants & it was extremely difficult to clean.
So I made a slingshot out of rubber bands and a branch from the backyard. I’ve sent hundreds of shots down range and hit only one of them. But it scares them and they know it’s me when I go into the back yard. I have found that shooting a lot of small dirtclogs is very effective because the noise hits all the leaves around them & they feel like they can’t dodge it. No more hanging out above where I sit.
The stupid woman who fed it is responsible for the entire incident. Cat ladies are bad enough. Now there are SQUIRREL ladies??
Fortunately, they have extremely strict gun control, so nobody got hurt.
We’re going to need a bigger nut.
“Did the squirrel used to be a Raiderette cheerleader and Baywatch actress?”
Good one!!!
I was listening to an Art Bell rerun last night and someone sent him a squirrel story that he read on air.
I miss Art Bell, george snorry is a talentless hack
Squirrels don't get or transmit rabies.
Here in the US. he’d have been released on his own
recognizance and sentenced to 15 minutes of community service.
Tell that to R.J. and Hammie ...
