A New Jersey woman shared video of a bear abiding by her polite request and closing the front door of her home.
Susan Kehoe, of Vernon, posted a video to YouTube showing her opening her front door to reveal a bear on the stoop.
"Mr. Bear, will you please close my door?" Kehoe asks the bruin.
Kehoe asks the bear a few more times to close the door, and the animal grabs the knob in its mouth and closes the door part of the way. Kehoe continues to make the request until the bear completely closes the door.
"This bear learned how to close the front door to my house," Kehoe wrote in the video description.
How could anything possibly go wrong.
Wow, that bearly seems possible!
This answers the lifelong question of.....
Does a bear close the door?
Mr. Bear has also learned how to open her door as needed for emergency 2AM snacking.
A bear that size is not going to be stopped by that door, but it was nice of him to close it. They need to get that bear trapped and removed - he knows he can enter that house at will and he’ll be back.
“How could anything possibly go wrong.”
Smarter than the average bear.
A bear in MY door way would get a different response.
She has to a liberal who believes that nature is a Disney movie, rather than red in tooth and claw.
I taught a yellow Labrador to close the door when he came in.
There is more to this story. Looks to me like she may be feeding bears like some people feed raccoons.

And who here wonders why some people disappear & never get found in the woods?
Not a smart thing to do.
I wonder if a cat can be taught that? A cat? Don’t think so!!
I am from northern Michigan and have moved back. I lived in NJ for 12 years (Ringwood) and saw more bears there than in MI.
Maybe 20 years ago there was a woman from W. Milford who was a big bear activist/agitator...Till her dog got eaten!!
Cats can do a lot of things. They just choose not to.
And a Lab won’t disembowel you with one swipe, if the mood hits him.
Just once?
