The risk of myocarditis for children under 16 years is 37 times higher for those infected with COVID-19 than those who haven’t been infected with the virus, according to a new study.
Authors from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said the study provides more evidence that the benefits of the vaccine outweigh a small risk of myocarditis after vaccination.
Researchers analyzed data from more than 900 hospitals and found inpatient visits for myocarditis were 42% higher in 2020 compared to 2019, according to a new Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report.
Among 36 million patients, about 0.01% had myocarditis between March 2020 and February 2021. The median age of people with myocarditis was 54 years, and 59% were male.
About 42% of patients with myocarditis had a history of COVID-19, mostly within the same month. The team determined the risk of myocarditis to be 0.146% among those with COVID-19 and 0.009% among those not diagnosed with COVID-19.
Across all ages, the risk of myocarditis was almost 16 times higher for people with COVID-19 compared to those who aren’t infected. The myocarditis risk is 37 times higher for infected children under 16 years and seven times higher for infected people ages 16-39 compared to their uninfected peers.
Some of the myocarditis cases seen in children with COVID-19 may be cases of multisystem inflammatory syndrome, according to the study.
Authors noted the study could not prove COVID-19 causes myocarditis, but the findings of a link between the two are consistent with several other studies.
In recent months, there has been concern about a small risk of myocarditis after receiving an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine. A June study showed among males ages 12-29 years — the group with the highest rates of myocarditis after vaccination — there would be an estimated 39 to 47 cases of myocarditis for every million second doses of vaccine. Authors of the new study say their findings support health officials’ assertions that the benefits of vaccination outweigh the risks.
“These findings underscore the importance of implementing evidence-based COVID-19 prevention strategies, including vaccination, to reduce the public health impact of COVID-19 and its associated complications,” they wrote.

that is not a given. If these are trials then it’s likely some batches are different than others, not all the same amount of whatever ingredients in the vials.
IMHO, this is a lie to take the blame off of the clot shot for this condition.
Covid supposedly mild in children, but now, after Jab approved for children we have this convenient study?
I ask this because I AM very concerned about this, not to minimize the risks.
37 times what? How close to nearly zero is 37 times a number still nearly zero? If we multiply the risk of being stabbed in the heart by the horn of a unicorn pooping rainbows, that’s very different than 37 times the risk of catching chicken pox.

Funny how you never heard of the problem of myocarditis from March 2020 until 2021 when they started vaccinating everyone
For the folks in Rio Linda squawking about myocarditis, it looks like getting the virus bumps up the odds significantly.
If you really are an army doc, you need to keep up with ongoing studies of how these vaxxes are affecting cells possibly permanently.

One concern is with the delivery platforms. Now there’s pre-clinical studies suggesting the lipid nanoparticles actually go right into the heart. The heart expresses the spike protein and the body attacks the heart.

...and so it continues; blame the virus despite the statement “authors noted the study could not prove COVID-19 causes myocarditis” in order to cover up what the Jim Jones Jab will do to children, either directly or through shedding.

That’s not what the data says.
Clearly, not getting COVID is the best option for both sexes and all ages.
Clearly, the COVID mRNA vaccines and adenoviral vector vaccines can stimulate some of the harmful immune responses that occur during natural COVID.
What you do with this information depends on two things (at least):
First: What you believe about the chance that a given uninfected human (yourself, or your kid) will eventually meet up with SARS CoV 2. If you think it’s 100%, you will do more things to mitigate your risk that if you believe it’s 3%.
Second: What you believe are the CONSEQUENCES of getting infected with SARS CoV 2 versus the consequences of exposure to an mRNA or adenovirus vector vaccine.
What this study says is that myocarditis in children (normally rare) occurs 37X more frequently if they have COVID than if they don’t. It does not address the main controversy, which is, is a child, say, YOUR child, more likely to get COVID myocarditis or vaccine myocarditis?
The reason this issue sticks around and invokes so much passion is that we don’t have a clue as to what the correct answer to that question is.
The reason they came out with this now is because people are objecting to the vax because it is causing heart problems and clot problems. Once someone gets vaccinated, they Wil, test positive for antibodies to covid, and then if the person develops heart problems, I wonder if the doctors will try to claim the person caught covid because they tested positive for antibodies so that they can then c,aim that the vaccine didn’t cause the heart problems?- (remember, they claim that the actua,,test for covid infection is “unreliable” [yet amazingly they use all positive results to jack up,their “died with covid” claims], so,if the test for active covid comes back negative for covid infecfion, they claim the test must not have caught it)
if so, then they will be using this announcement to mitigate responsibility for the vaccine causing heart problems
We are increasingly entering into the age of deception. Fauci lies, cdc has lied, Stat, keepers on covid lie, doctors who support vaxxing everyone lie about things like hcq and ivermectin, they lie about what Trump said, it just never ends, and now they lie with apparent immunity. Years ago ,ayers woild,have been al, over this suing on behalf of victims of the vaccine, and suing for rights violation etc. Oddly there doesn’t seem to be much of that happening nearly 2 years after covid outbreak.
When someone get chemo, they are given odds that the chemo coild halt the cancer, or it might not. When given the odds that the mop up sessions of chemo after the surgery, the odds are very low, like around 7% or so that it will get the remaining cancer. Docs talk patients into getting it because there’s a “chance”, even if small, that it coild save the patients life.
A 37% chance of getting heart problems if one gets covid doesn’t seem to jive with anything we’ve heard about cases. That is over one in every 3 kids getting permanent heart problems. That is huge. Yet we have not heard any of that in the news. If this were true, hospitals woild be over run with kids with heart problems
Covid has been here for almost 2 years now, and this is the first we are hearing about it causing over one In 3 kids to get heart problems? What did the docs do? Hide all,the 6oung heart problem victims away so noone woild find out til, now? If I have a 33% chance of getting say cancer, then I’m either one of the 2 that won’t get it, or the one of the group of three that will.
Yes real doc, retired Army. As I said, I am no fan of the vax. I agree, they haven’t been studied nearly long enough. And yes, it is looking like the spike protein itself is causing all sorts of mayhem. My point was that there is no evidence or even a known mechanism for mRNA to become a permanent part of the genome. If you have seen something different, I would be eager to see it. It would be HUGE.
We have been led to beleive that The vast majority of people getting covid will get mild to no symptoms, that over 99% will survive it fine, with again, the vast majority of folks breezing through it (some needing hospitalization, but the majority surviving). Now the cdc says that 1 in 3 kids will get heart problems?
This la device has been here for 2 years nearly, where are all, the cases? I hav d n there of a single case of a child, with heart problems from covid in our town, but if kids were getting it, you can bet the news woild spread like wildfire. 2 years now, and not a single case that we’ve heard of.

Who are they studying? Is my town an outlier? (Note- I can’t know if kids are getting heart problems around our town, but again, if they were, word woild have spread by now as concerned parents woild have warned others of the dangers of getting heart problems in kids, from covid by now. That’s not something that would stay a secret for long

I don’t treat children, so I can’t respond directly. I only treat hospitalized adults, so it’s obviously an unrepresentative group - but blood clotting especially in small vessels is a huge part of the most severe forms of the disease, I’m not surprised that T-cell responses to spike protein can cause the same thing after vaccination.
Am I the only one who noticed the time period the data was taken from? 2019 - 2020, when no one was looking for side effects. Since then the Delta variant emerged, and VAERS got staffed enough to be able to timely answer the phones and take down cases from health technicians.
They focus the article on methodology so you entirely miss the state of the data to start. Garbage in, Garbage Out.
