GOP Sen. Josh Hawley tells men to stop watching porn and playing video games and return to being fathers, husbands and 'somebody who takes responsibility'
UK Daily Mail ^ | November 8, 2021 | Nikki Schwab

Republican Sen. Josh Hawley said conservatives needed to 'call men back to responsibility,' in a new interview that aired Sunday on Axios on HBO.

'Spending your time on video games, spending your time watching porn online while doing nothing is not good for you, your family, or this country,' Hawley said.

The Missouri Republican also suggested the left should be blamed for men's undoing.

If you are married (never divorced) and over the age of 50... you have ZERO clue what “Family Court” has done to your fellow man. I can only describe it as DIVORCE RAPE.... you will lose 1/2 (or more) of your life’s savings (401k, investments, property, business, everything). Child support will be used as “Back-Door Alimony”, taking up to 60% of your take home pay under threat of imprisonment. But that’s not the worst of it. Your children WILL be given to the woman who cheated on you and changed her mind on the marriage. Your kids will be raised by a woman who you will soon learn never believed in your conservative ideals. These children will grow to blame an hate you. Your fatherhood WILL be erased and you will keep paying $$$$$ for it.

My point? Brothers... DO NOT GET MARRIED!!!
Even if she is 100% conservative, godly, family focused (today). Women are not known for their superior emotional regulation, their feelings about you and your family will change.

Video Games & Porn, if that’s what it takes as a distraction is far better than DIVORCE RAPE.

“I have a few female friends who never married bc the men they met wanted them to “put out” but they were shy Christian women who were earnestly saving themselves for marriage like God wanted them to...Pushing 60 now. They would have been loving wives and mothers.”

Or maybe they have no interest in sex. If a woman is still a virgin at 60 that goes way beyond religion. That is a red flag as in danger stay away she is as frigid as a popsicle.

I’m surprised the senator is getting flack for that statement. He is right. Doesn’t mean everybody is doing it, but the ones that are should grow up.

For me, my kids are grown. I have a beautiful wife; been married 29 years. We have time for a little fun, trips, motorcycles, gambling. Hoping to retire in a few years.

Does anybody still make Joust? I spent a lot of arcade quarters on that one. Maybe time to get hooked again. <;^)

typical of many men that in the face of criticism they immediately turn it on everyone else's fault except their own....

Playboy magazine....you told women that that is the way they have to act and behave and then you have the nerve to say its womens fault that men are porn and video game addicted....

stop blaming others if you can't find a wife...stop blaming others if you choose badly...and stop blaming women because some men would rather have a sex affair infront of a porn video....

look in the mirror and stop blaming everyone else.....

part of growing up is accepting responsibility....

"Not hardly. Pot smoking is another. Pot porn and video games. I have friends and relatives with boys like these. They are at their wits end. It is way more common than you think."

You knowing someone doing this is not evidence it's happening on a massive scale. I don't know anyone like that so put the two together and it's a wash. further, Hawley was talking about adults not adolescent teens.

Stocks of some of the largest online video game producers are guiding down and the price has fallen pretty dramatically. Does not jive with men sitting home playing video games on a massive scale.

American is declining rapidly but it has little to do with online gaming and porn. Hawley should be talking about the trillion dollar infrastructure bill his party just voted into existence. He is trying to deflect and it isn't working.

Kinda average looking, but great hearts. Pushing 60 now. They would have been loving wives and mothers.

Amen. I know a few women who fit that description. They were relatively attractive, stayed in good shape, dressed nicely, and so on, but men weren't interested because they weren't "hot."

Also, I know of young women today who are resisting the pressure to "put out" and saving themselves for marriage.

I read a lot of relationship books when I was married.

One said women are responders and men are totally responsible for how women respond.

Another said women totally controlled the happiness in the home. And if they would just feed men’s two appetites, that men would build them the Taj Mahal.

The truth is somewhere in the middle.

I’m 69 years old. I’m whachacall been shooting blanks all my adult life. I’m a disabled Viet/Cold War vet. I have no off springs, and am the last of the line. I figure I’ve earned the right to do and watch whatever I choose to or not to. I’m also not married my sterility became a roadblock for all the wife’s family, not leaving me any choice, except cuckolding, and that wasn’t going to happen.

So, Mr. Hawley, I proudly MGTOW, play Cold Waters or DCS air combat, watch the foolish girls on tiktok, and have my own YouTube channel for years! And it’s all fueled by ....coffee!! (I’ve been dry since 1986. Can you say that you’ve been dry that long????

“Women are not known for their superior emotional regulation”

When it comes to zero coping skills and no impulse control, I’ve almost always only seen it in men.

Geez... is that you dad?

Seriously, I got the same speech from my dad just before I shipped out for boot camp. I was 17. I took his words to heart and did not marry until I found the perfect woman. I was 33 years old. We’ve been married for 18 years and it just gets better every year.

Hawley should put his self-righteousness on the line as a law maker and lobby his behind off by engaging in a national campaign to have States end no-fault divorce laws.

Next, lobby to get of artificial BC protections eradicated and promote women staying at home which will increase wages so male blue collar workers generate enough money to raise a family.
Next cut public spending to the bone and end income taxes.

Yet all this guy does is go after low hanging fruit. A lot more complicated than video games and porn.

It sounds like they did not have a large enough social circle.

Their strategy might work if they married young (late teens, early twenties) to men they grew up with—so that there was affection and trust already established.

But—after that they have lost all control of the situation—because then they are competing with women who will be more accommodating to what men want.

That means they would have to lower their expectations quite a bit—understandably they may not want to go there.

...and what is Senator Josh Hawley, who's paid with out taxes, doing about the flawed "marriage" that citizens of the United States are forced to make between two people and the government?

What is Senator Josh Hawley, who's paid with out taxes, doing to get rid of the unconstitutional income tax which causes one-sided arrangements between citizens and the government that adversely effects families?

What is Senator Josh Hawley, who's paid with out taxes, doing to get rid of completely biased laws that strip men of their rights in "family" court?

What is Senator Josh Hawley, who's paid with out taxes, doing to change child support laws that has men paying for children they're not allowed to see?

What is Senator Josh Hawley, who's paid with out taxes, doing to change alimony laws where a man is forced to pay for a woman he no longer has any connection to?

A fundamental right in founding this country was not having debtors' prisons yet a man can be locked up for not paying child support.

Senator Josh Hawley is doing nothing but pandering to the "forgotten women" in his voter base who blame men for their loneliness. Maybe those women should start playing video games and watching porn.

Good ideas. Seems to me that Hawley is out there spit-balling, trying to find an issue that will resonate with voters.

Last week he was making a fuss over the US -British military exercise, which the Brits were victorious. As one who didn’t serve a day in the military, he didn’t understand the value of these training exercises, and his criticism fell flat as a pancake.

And what’s he going to do about the woke system that’s punishing and burying men? He’s just piling on.

Yeah, all those poor, beat on men. They’re just victims, you know. They can’t help it. Don’t be so hard on them.

Yup—Hawley is _way_ out of his league on this issue.

He has no clue of the risk vs reward young men face with marriage.

Another factor is that many large employers have become enemies of their employees (CRT and vaccine mandates are the latest examples) so young men have no assurance of stable and long term job prospects.

It is foolish and dangerous to make long-term family commitments when your job prospects do not match.
