Previous stories said somebody handed it to Arec Bardwin and said “cold gun.”

I have never seen that person identified.

Before he handed a revolver that he had declared “cold” to the actor Alec Baldwin on the set of the film “Rust” last week, Dave Halls, an assistant director on the film, told a detective he should have inspected each round in each chamber, according to an affidavit that was released Wednesday. But he did not.

I wonder if the investigation is doing a timeline of the gun through custody. If she did check it and Arec Barwin didn’t check it in front of her, it would likely point to him loading the ammo. Same question vice versa, if Arec will testify that the armorer didn’t check the gun in front of him to verify no live rounds were in the chamber or any rounds at all were loaded.

That’s pretty vague that “someone” handed the gun to Alec. Hope the investigation identifies who this “someone” is. Is there a proper chain of custody once the armorer checks the gun that is always followed strictly?
