Alec Baldwin discharged a prop firearm on a New Mexico film set Thursday, Oct. 21, killing the director of photography and wounding the director, according to local law enforcement officials.
The incident occurred on the set of the Western film Rust, though it is unclear whether the actors were rehearsing or filming a scene. The circumstances of the incident are still under investigation, and no charges have been filed against the 63-year-old actor, according to local media reports.

I think one of the main problems Baldwin is gonna have is he’s not just an actor on this movie he is the producer which means he is responsible for everything that happens.
As I understand it, there is no video of the incident... which means the cameras weren’t rolling... which means it wasn’t a take for the movie... which means there was no reason to be pointing the gun at anyone... which means there was no reason to pull the trigger and discharge the weapon.
The above makes me think he was either trying to be intimidating and had an accident or just being his usual a$$hole self... and had an “accident.”
I know it’s old news but the source is an interesting take all the time. My sincere apologies for another viewpoint. We have 12 jurors traditionally. Countless eye witnesses. Nobody’s opinion should be overlooked or bypassed because someone already reported. I trust you notified the other posters . Thanks for the litany. I’ll watch it.
I doubt it. You'd think we'd have heard something by now. ;-)
It was a tragic accident. He’s been in touch with the young lady’s family........Blah blah blah. Trying to figure how to not get the crap sued out of him. Purty durn sure there will be no criminal charges. After all, he’s a mega star. Or something. When in actuality he’s a fookin’ idjit.
Good point.
the press is really covering his blubbery ass.
“As I’m sure your aware, the 1st rule in gun safety is there is NO SUCH THING as an unloaded gun.”
Technically a gun can be unloaded, in practice we assume all guns are loaded as a safety measure, correct.
That’s why Baldwin has no excuse for this shooting. It’s like someone accelerating down an alley at 50MPH because “No one was visible until they stepped out right in front of me.”
“there is no video of the incident”
Plenty of witnesses though.
This story ain’t over by a long ways.
Prayers to the families of the deceased and injured.
That wasn’t my point. If there’s no video, it wasn’t a take for the movie. There was no reason to be pointing and firing a weapon.
He is in the protected group.
🎯
Jurors slapped Chauvin with every count of murder for doing nothing more than his job, using a known technique to control violent perps, who even thought they pass out, still present a danger when they come back to, if the officers guard is let down.
However, I doubt he will even get negligent, Alec that is, because he is the protected class.
There is audio of the 911,call, not sure who called, but sure sounded like how he talks .loaded with f-bombs, and he was already blaming someone else if it was infact him. Whoever made the call blamed someone else.
So he could have known the bullets were live and murdered the woman and gotten away with it.
He could have checked the gun and taken advantage of the situation. He could have changed the ammo himself.
A perfect example of why you treat every gun as if its loaded:

Pure speculation on my part, but when I first read the round passed through the lady cinematographer and then hit the guy, assuming they were going for western authenticity, I guessed it was most likely a .45 Colt with a standard 255 grain lead round nose.
The director handed a live ammo gun to Baldwin, telling him it was “cold”.
Baldwin was the usual a-hole waving it around and shot the cinematographer.
Sounds like between takes.
The armorer (crew member responsible for gun safety) probably never checked the gun.
Incompetent, lazy, or just plain stupid ?
“it wasn’t a take for the movie. There was no reason to be pointing and firing a weapon.”
Ah, I disagree my friend, they could have been rehearsing the scene prior to filming it. I believe its a common practice.
We should pray that God will use this tragedy to move Alec to seek christ as savior. Hopefully his brother Steven will be able to get through to him during this time. Hopefully a.ec is not beyond redemption. Being as angry a person as he is, he woild seem to be, but God can use events to draw even hardened criminals to himself.
