This goes along the lines of, if you hand a loaded gun to a chimp don’t blame the chimp if someone gets shot.
The real question is why did he point and shoot the gun at director and cinematographer?
Also, how does someone his age, who has most likely handled prop guns numerous times in his career, not learn the first lesson of firearms?
A member of the 99% would, at a minimum, be charged with negligent discharge of a firearm - and probably negligent homicide.
In the immortal words of Marion Barry...
“Bitch set me up.”
Certainly a possibility.
This a-hat has a history of being an idiot. No doubt in my mind he was being reckless with that firearm.
Jon-Erick Hexum and Brandon Lee are two others killed by blanks. The concussion alone can kill you.
Hexum did something stupid. He picked a blank loaded gun, put it to his head and pulled the trigger. Shattered his skull.
I remember a woman being killed by a blank in Durango Colorado back in 1973 or so with a blank loaded firearm.
Reminds me of the old Bela Lugosi movie THE DEATH KISS(1932)
Democrats and firearms go along like Bolsheviks and the US Constitution.
It is dangerous to expect healthy outcomes from such mixtures.
meaning a firearm loaded with real ammunition.

I will wait to find out if the gun really had “real ammunition or not” but my guess is it wasn’t. Few (it seems) know the “wadding” in a blank becomes a projectile when filed and can be deadly at close range.
Why was he pointing a gun at those people with his finger on the trigger?
I think wax is a component.
There was a tv actor, years ago, that was killed when he "pretended" to shoot himself in the head.
That said, Baldwin and everyone else there had to be aware that blanks are dangerous and potentially lethal.
uh...No, it did NOT!
He pulled the trigger intentionally!
The problems are that He Pointed it at a person, and that it was loaded with a live round, or had a round in the barrel propelled by a blank charge.
It’s a film set, maybe there were cameras rolling a recorded the incident.
#1 guns don’t “accidentally” discharge.
#2 see #1
Live ammo in a prop gun sounds like a plot device in a cheap detective series. Didn’t I see this in an episode of Columbo or Perry Mason?
This guy is a loose cannon nutcase like all progressive idiots. I feel sorry for anyone that comes in contact with this fool.
He needs to retire from public life.
I recall Alec sitting as guest on a talk show, saying some very hateful things about Republican Henry Hyde.
I don’t recall the exact topic, but recall the host looking rather surprised at the viciousness of Alecs remark.
Nearly every detective drama on TV has had an episode where the stage prop gun was replaced with a real one and a victim got really shot.
Did the script say ‘point this unloaded prop gun at the camera person and pull the trigger’? [/s]
Baldwin is a liberal moron. I wonder why he was given a plastic comb or glass instead of a sippy-cup.
I’d buy it more if he killed another actor playing his antagonist on the set. But why was he aiming at the CINEMATOGRAPHER who was presumably off-set?
I’m not a lawyer, but if two people were out hunting with their AR-15s, and this same thing happened, would not the shooter be charged with at least 3rd degree murder?
The state would say: “you are holding and operating the gun, you are 100% responsible for its safety.”
So can we assume Alec Baldwin will be charged?
This just seems strange to me. I never thought they used real bullets in these films.
