The ultimate end to digital tyranny will be economic. I spend far too many hours a day providing information to nitwits who have no idea what to do with the information I provide, but are empowered [and paid - and there are a lot of them so it’s a lot of money] to gum up the works getting everyone to spend productive time [for which they are paid handsomely] providing information that is useless to the people colleting it [so there is no possible economic return on this utter waste of their and my time].
The cows are out. The state of the barn door no longer matters.
There are IDs and a lot of data floating around out there.
But the real end of privacy comes when your bio data is breached.
Have you been fingerprinted? Have you sent off your DNA to learn about your “ancestors?” Have you had your iris’ scanned for Clear to short-cut airport security? Have you scanned your fingerprints to unlock your computer?
If your account data/password gets breached, you can change a password or even close the account.
If your bio data is in the wild, you can’t “undo” it like you can a password, or “close” your account. You can’t change it.
China is collecting Americans’ bio data at every opportunity. Wonder why?
