"Stairway to Heaven, but as if Mark Knopfler had written it. 1:24 video here.
Youtube text:
"I tried to incorporate a lot of Knopfler's playing style. The double stops, the raking, hammer-ons, and the iconic, wild vibrato bends.
Had a lot of fun making the backing track for this. For the drums I looked a little at the beat from 'Once upon a time in the West' by Dire Straits, to get a Dire Straits vibe for the song, instead of copying the beat from the original Stairway to Heaven."
I love that shirt. First time in my life I’ve ever been able to easily read a code.
Rebel Base! LTNS. Hope you are well!
So much great music from the Fillmore - east or west. Several of my favorite albums were recorded there.
You either got great parents, or you are a few years older than I. Doesn’t matter. Great music lasts. I still listen to Mozart and Beethoven among others. I wish I could hear them playing their own music but I’ve done the digging to find the gems I enjoy.
I was 26 in 1969 when I saw Zeppelin.
Thanks for the ping...that was really lovely. :-)
Better looking guitar player : )
She is French.

Neat article out today..
When Mike Rutherford hits the stage with Genesis during their currently postponed The Last Domino? reunion tour, he delivers some of his guitar parts using a $140 instrument.
He discovered the Squier Bullet Stratocaster during lockdown in South Africa and was so impressed with its performance that he’s added several more to his road rig.
“I’ve just bought him a couple of others which I’ve found rather cheaply in the clearance section at Guitar Guitar in Newcastle [England],” his roadie Steve Prior told Guitar Player in a recent interview. “They were only about [$138] each! I mean they’re unbelievably good guitars for the money. ... His favorite one is an unusual color; it’s a limited-edition finish called Sonic Grey. … Mike bought the guitar in a shop in Cape Town because he forgot to take his black Clapton Strat with him on a visit. He actually bought two.

I have a feeling that tour is pretty much over. I think the reaction to the shows was such that they looked for an excuse to end it before it became an embarrasment. And I say that as a huge Genesis fan.
Wonderful. I so much miss life in Los Angeles in the 1980’s. This song is like a soundtrack of it. That once beautiful city and those times will never come again.
# Now do Sultans of Swing ala Jimmy Page
I’d listen to that!
They have a month of shows set Nov 15 thru Dec 16 in America and Canada.
Nice! Loved Dire Straits, and he did play just like them.
Neil Sedaka is still alive!...........
He’s alive, and he has a radio show on Sirius Satellite Radio.
