An upstate New Yorker bearing an uncanny resemblance to Brian Laundrie had a rude awakening when US Marshals on the hunt for the fugitive pulled their guns on him during a nap on the Appalachian Trail.
Ithaca couple Severin Beckwith and Anna Brettmann were catching a few winks at the Lodge at Fontana Village Resort after lunch when they heard a knock and their door flew open, the New Yorker reported.
“Next thing I see is a bunch of guys with riot shields with ‘US Marshals’ written on them, handguns pointed at my face,” Beckwith told the mag.
The stunned hiker was promptly handcuffed as one of the feds helped Brettmann get dressed.

Yes, there’s an arrest warrant for him for using her debit card.
But, they haven’t named him a suspect for murder, yet. They say they’re still investigating, so they’re calling him a “person of interest.”
I have been told, by a reliable source, the U.S. Marshals are the least corrupted of the federal law enforcement agencies. Border Patrol was another, although it is now part of Homeland Security.

For the most part, you are correct. But, the feds do have a task force and a rapid response team that are VERY dangerous. If they come for you, you better not be home. And, don't think you can stand and fight them by yourself. They have EXCELLENT firearm skills and are bloodthirsty killers.

It is not unreasonable to suggest that law enforcement do a little bit of homework before terrorizing innocent civilians.

Actually, he was lucky. Had they been FBI they’d have shot him right off, and when confronted with their error (if that ever came out) they’d have claimed he attacked all dozen of them with his knapsack.
They’re desperate...they can’t let Dog the Bounty Hunter get him first!
