That is really interesting. It had never occurred to me that a vessel rides significantly higher in the winter than in the summer. Would it follow they can also carry more cargo in winter?
I don’t know about $100, but I know a few that are getting $50 or more. Of course, with a shortage, that number can rise. Supply and demand is the gravity of economics. :)

Yes, 29 SEP is Michaelmas. (I just learned recently that the English pronounce it “Micklemiss”.) Have never celebrated Michaelmas before, but, this year, I plan to honor St Michael and the other archangels. Also, I will be baking a St Michael’s Bannock.
