Legendary Star Trek actor William Shatner is set to become the oldest man ever in space as part of the second crew to travel with Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin.
The 90-year-old actor will take off in the New Shepard capsule in October for a 15-minute civilian flight, according to TMZ.
The Blue Origin flight will be recorded for a documentary that was rejected by Discovery and is now being negotiated by Shatner's team somewhere else.

But what a bio for the ages. He’d never be forgotten. Though I’d much prefer he died peacefully in bed, surrounded by his family and hearing his horses outside the window.

The guy nearly made it to Andromeda, and now just suborbital. Talk about a guy’s life going into the gutter.

It might kill him. The G-forces hurt, and and old heart might not be able to take it.

These days, I can barely log into FR without grinding my teeth.
I can appreciate total silliness and frivolity, which is pretty much what this thread is.
Thank goodness.

I don't know about the others but have seen the Jack Benny Show and Red Skelton being rebroadcast on some channels. Recently saw Freddie the Freeloader’s College Reunion episode and I couldn't stop laughing. You don't see talent like that around much anymore.

Thanx. Seems like a lot of pressure for a 90 year old.
But how could he say no?
To: Pearls Before Swine
I mostly depends on how long the G forces last. IIRC they are very brief in a Blue Origin sub orbital flight.
