Legendary Star Trek actor William Shatner is set to become the oldest man ever in space as part of the second crew to travel with Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin.
The 90-year-old actor will take off in the New Shepard capsule in October for a 15-minute civilian flight, according to TMZ.
The Blue Origin flight will be recorded for a documentary that was rejected by Discovery and is now being negotiated by Shatner's team somewhere else.

I love listening to Sirius channel 148.
They play classic radio shows all day long.
Recently while listening to the Jack Benny show,
I was surprised that they were calling Jack Benny “Jackson”
I have never heard he had a nickname of Jackson.

I really enjoyed the discussion he had with the Laginas and their partners on Oak Island about the whole venture. Very fascinating.
I could see him having his own talk show, if he wasn’t so old.

I always thought it almost criminal that Chuck Yeager never scored a ride on the shuttle.

"I have never heard he had a nickname of Jackson."
I don't recall hearing him called that either, but it's been so many years, I could have forgotten it. I perused through his IMDb bio, but didn't see it listed as a nickname for him.

I guess Priceline gave him a great deal on the flight.

>>I think “Jack” is supposed to be a nickname for “Jackson.”
Phil Harris was one of his sidekicks.
From Wikipedia:
Phil Harris as himself - A skirt-chasing, arrogant, hip-talking bandleader, he constantly put Jack down (in a mostly friendly way). He referred to Mary as “Livvy” or “Liv”, and Jack as “Jackson”. Harris explained this once by saying it’s “as close as I can get to jackass and still be polite”

LOL!! That's funny. I remember Phil Harris. He'd never be able to sing this song today:
"That's What I Like About the South"

Good for Shatner, but now we will have to hear his commercials for zero-gravity adult diapers.
