A decent lawyer would make a public statement asking for Brian Laundrie to turn himself in so they could answer the charges in court. His family would also be asking for him to turn himself in to avoid possible harm.

That both are silent is curious.

Without vigorous defense we have a police state.

No I have no known sympathy for Laundrie. But I want him vigorously defended.

Because the alternative is a police state.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the father whacked her a few times himself.

This was at your link and says a lot about Laundrie:
Petito's father reveals nickname he used to 'intimidate’ Brian Laundrie

Gabby Petito's father, Joe, revealed during an interview with Dr. Phil that he used to call Brian Laundrie -- the person of interest in his daughter's homicide -- Brianne.

“I’ve never liked any of Gabby’s boyfriends, let's be real. I’ve never actually called one of her boyfriends by their real name, ever. I always made up names for them," he said.

"I always tried to use the female version of the boyfriend's names, just to intimidate them a little bit," Joe Petito added. Petito says Laundrie "laughed" when he first heard the name.

The detail emerged as an attorney for Petito’s family reportedly told CBS News last week that "Gabby's family was instructed by law enforcement to not discuss the details of Gabby and Brian's relationship.”

From the get go, I said this criminal defense attorney is experiencing emotions and lawyer rigor beyond what most could endure.

He has a job to do, but he’s human and sees what’s happening now there is a dead body.

It’s a stretch from I passed the bar to WFT my client is on national news accused and likely guilty of killing his girlfriend.

He has his firm around him, but that’s all he has.

Yes, that is a despicable family—father, mother, and daughter/sister. Obviously covering up, likely assisting their son/brother to flee. The attorneys now have that shared guilt on their hands. Is it worth a few dollars or minutes of publicity? Sick, if that is the case.

We are not a nation of laws.

We are a nation of lawyers.

The only way I could ever become a criminal defense lawyer is if I could earn a living defending those that I was *convinced* were innocent...kinda like Perry Mason.

A few years ago I had some business at the County Courthouse and, when finished,I asked a court official if there were any trials in progress. She said "there's a murder trial in progress in Courtroom #4.

I went in and stayed for the rest of the day and came back the next day. The evidence *strongly* suggested that the accused was guilty yet his lawyer was patting him on the back and talking to him like they were at a comedy performance. Disgusting doesn't even begin to describe it.

If you have a problem with a person being represented by a lawyer then you are the one with a problem—a BIG problem.

“As far as the law is concerned this law firm may be immune due to attorney/client privilege,” Steve Petito wrote.

“But in the eyes of the public you are as guilty and complicit with this massive cover-up and stalling tactic,” he added, without elaborating.

So now we have trial by vote? I suppose that if we can't vote in elections anymore and have it count then voting on criminal guilt based on MSM reporting is the next best thing, as long as it isn't a Democratic politician or Hollywood actor on trial. Then the voting will be as rigged as the political elections.

Sooner rather than later, a Laundrie family member will screw up and give away Mickey Hartbeard’s location. Either electronically or just loose talk. Schadenfreude.

The Press has certainly moved this story to the public......after all lots of people go missing or found dead across the country. I haven’t followed this closely but I wonder if he isn’t in police protection somewhere.......guilty or not it would make sense because this has been made into such a story,

I also think possible, since there were already domestic issues by both of them.....if it wasn’t an unintentional murder. They got carried away.

As someone who was married to an attorney and lived next door to a chief of homicide, I have my own opinions. Many here won’t like them. I don’t care. It is my life experience, so I will share it (knowing there are always exceptions, but this is a generalized series of statements based upon the majority I have known). Attorneys are liars, thieves and crooks of the highest order. They don’t care if you are innocent or guilty. They care if they win and if they get notoriety and if they get paid.

Judges are worse than attorneys. The “fix” is often in before you even walk into the room. They should give oscars out to judges and lawyers. So many here are worried about getting a police state. Really? You’ve been living in one from the get go. Money talks, guilty walks. Power rules the day and has for as long as I can remember. If you are a peon you are up against a bought system that just doesn’t care. If you get justice, it is a fluke.

Cops want to close the case as soon as possible. They’d love to get the bad guys, but time and money are factors as is the opinion of their higher ups (bought and paid for) and the community at large.

The reason the cartels get away with so much is because they have money and power. The reason OJ walked was money. The reason so many walk today is because they cry FOUL and VICTIM (community at large).

So, for those of you still so concerned about cutting Laundrie a break because you fear a “police state”. Wake up and smell the roses. He is a white male, so guilty or innocent (and I think he is guilty and I am entitled to my opinion), he is going down (if he is still alive). He is the poster boy for today’s target practice. As the paint gets thicker, his chances get smaller. It is what it is.

I used to believe justice and right would prevail. In my lifetime of experience (and I am a senior citizen), it NEVER has. God will sift us, but American justice?????? It is to laugh.
