The FBI announced Tuesday that Teton County Coroner Dr. Brent Blue has confirmed remains found in the Bridger-Teton National Forest are those of Gabrielle Petito.
The coroner determined the 22-year-old's manner of death to be homicide. The exact cause of death is still under investigation.
In that case it would likely be an accidental death- not homicide. Strictly speaking homicide is death caused .by the hand of another. If he pushed her, and on falling, her head hit a rock and she died- then you might have manslaughter (homicide)- but not always.
She was found on flat ground.
That sounds similar to a case in a town where I lived. In an argument with his girlfriend, the young man (who everyone thought was a nice guy), also in his early 20’s, snapped and grabbed his girlfriend’s neck. Then he tried to cover up the crime by dumping her body somewhere. That woman was small and slight, too, and later, of course, he claimed she died quickly and he didn’t mean to kill her.
Bingo
That is one definition. Here is another:
Homicide may perhaps be described to be the destruction of the life of one human being, either by himself, or by the act, procurement, or culpable omission of another. When the death has been intentionally caused by the deceased himself, the offender is called felo de se; when it is caused by another, it is justifiable, excusable, or felonious.
I missed the deniers going full on suicide when the article clearly states homicide.
My thinking too. Laundrie was a narcissistic psychopath who showed his colors when he was observed slapping and shoving Gabby:
Caller: “Hello, uh, I’m calling. I’m on the corner of the main street near Moonflower and I’m driving by. I’d like to report on a domestic conflict. Florida – with a white van – Florida license plate, white van, gentleman about 5-6 … “
Coordinator: “Where are you?”
Caller: “They just ran away. They went down the main street. They turned right from Moonflower to the main street … Cooperative.”
Coordinator: “And what were they doing?”
Caller: “What did you say?”
Coordinator: “What were they doing?”
Caller: “We passed by, and the gentleman was slapping the girl.”
Coordinator: “Did he slap her?”
Caller: “Yes, then stopped. He ran up and down the sidewalk. He started hitting her, jumped into the car, and they ran away.”
Coordinator: “Okay. Did you say it’s a white van?”
Caller: “White van. I’ll give you a license plate in a second. I took a picture.”
Coordinator: “Well, what kind of white van? Like a big one?”
Caller: “Hmm, it was a small van with the Florida license plate QFTGO3 license plate. It was white. It was a manufacturer and a Ford model with transit. A black ladder on the passenger side. “
Coordinator: “Black ladder, passenger side?”
Caller: “White Ford Transit.”
Coordinator: “White Ford Transit … Well, what’s your name?”
Coordinator: “And where were they? So did they turn around and head south on Main Street from Moonflower Market?”
Caller: “Correct. They turned right.”
All it would take would be for Gabby to cut him off from sex as her way to control him. That would set off a chain reaction resulting in a grab to her neck.
The 911 caller said he was slapping her both outside and inside the van.
Couples nicely with MSNBC’s Queen Racist Joy Reads take on the whole incident
Climate Change, for sure.
I’ve thought about that possibility. How could anyone tell if she was pushed, or if she jumped, or got angry and just blindly ran off a cliff?
We could user some details to be able to affirm the opinion....
“… And there must be many such homicides that we never hear of in the media... for whatever reasons... :-/…”

One good reason would be the non-typical and completely reprehensible behavior of the near-certain murderer’s family… the whole damn family!
She was found on flat ground with no cliffs around.
“ She was found on flat ground.”

Possibly. Possibly not. Details such as that may be withheld for a while. The dirtbag can keep his mouth shut from here to eternity. There’s likely way more circumstantial evidence to convict him.

A family in the public spotlight needs to be careful. Maybe they just have a bad lawyer. Should we use leave it to beaver as the pet ultimate typical family? Or lassie? Or father knows best? Or South Park? I’m not sure there is a useful typical family definition.
“no cliffs around”
What about Normi,Diane or Sam ?
