Police bodycam footage has been released of officers speaking to Gabby Petito and her boyfriend Brian Laundrie in Utah after they responded to a 911 call of a domestic incident a month before she was reported missing.
The Moab City Police Department on Thursday released the hour-long footage of their interaction with the couple when they pulled over their white van outside Arches National Park in Moab on Aug. 12.
In the footage, obtained by ABC7, Petito sobbed as she spoke to an officer.
“I have really bad OCD. I was apologizing to him saying I’m sorry I’m so mean,” Petito told the officer.

From watching the video, she is very, very immature. She appears to be emotionally very volatile. Both of them should not be traveling across the country having (most probably) immoral sexual relations, as this would further deteriorate her already fragile emotional state. She was probably feeling used and this led up to the conflict.
More than likely he left her walking down the highway and a sexual predator picked her up, you know what happened next and then killed her.

Legal information for folks:
Without a body, there is NO case at all. Nothing. He either has to admit he did something to her, OR, they have to find a body. Otherwise, no charges can be filed.

Sounds a lot like Utah’s Josh Powell case. They never found Susan Powell.

The police are investigating a connection to the double murder, in the same area where they found the bodies several days after this domestic episode.

Yes, you are correct. That and the text messages from CA show guilt.
The burden of proof is still on the police/FBI. Until they find a body, she is just a missing person.
Frankly, finding a body in the deserts of the SW US is literally a needle in a haystack. Especially, if he drove off on some side road miles out into the desert.
Remember the intern that went missing in Washington, DC?
She was having an affair with some CA congressmen. She went missing and her bones were found in Rock Creek Park right in DC about a year later. My point is DC has millions of people in it. Thousands are in Rock Creek Park everyday. If it was not for a guy walking his Golden Retriever in just the right place she may not ever have been found. IF this girl is buried out in the desert somewhere, she may never be found.

My wife and I spend some time in way up in our 3500 mile drive around the western United States for honeymoon 23 years ago. There’s no small number of people to fall to their deaths in that area, often times mountain biking off of rounded cliff.
Watching those videos reminded me of the YouTube video of the hot crazy matrix :-)

Not if they never find a body and he has a halfway decent attorney. Simply too much room for reasonable doubt.

I have some doubt whether the kid killed her. If she’s that unstable maybe she took off and he really doesn’t know what happened to her or if he accidentally hurt her defending himself I would think the attorney would be wanting to jump on that by taking his client in for an interview. The whole thing is screwy. The fact that he didn't call her parents and tell them "I lost your daughter" and that he did not call the police to report her missing shows he is guilty of something. She may have been a whack job, but you don't just abandon someone without letting people know what happened.

I knew of a bizarre couple like this. They were disturbing. I always thought one day something bad will happen. The only thing I can stress is parents intervene early but unfortunately psycho couples are a warped strong bond even if one wanted to break away.

You can use circumstantial to convict someone for murder without finding the body.

She could be more of a nut because he's gas-lighting her. I agree. Would be interesting to interview people each of them previously dated. Would give some insight potentially.
