Patients overdosing on ivermectin backing up rural Oklahoma hospitals, ambulances

SOUTHEASTERN OKLAHOMA, Okla. (KFOR) – A rural Oklahoma doctor said patients who are taking the horse de-wormer medication, ivermectin, to fight COVID-19 are causing emergency room and ambulance back ups.

“There’s a reason you have to have a doctor to get a prescription for this stuff, because it can be dangerous,” said Dr. Jason McElyea.

Dr. McElyea said patients are packing his eastern and southeastern Oklahoma hospitals after taking ivermectin doses meant for a full-sized horse, because they believed false claims the horse de-wormer could fight COVID-19.

“The ERs are so backed up that gunshot victims were having hard times getting to facilities where they can get definitive care and be treated,” he said.

You can be sure they are giving them tablets for humans instead of forcing American natives to convert animal dosages with filler to human doses.

[ I call bs too. An entire tube of horse paste is 113 mg of ivermectin, there are trials of ivermectin that have been close to that amount (one used 168mg) with no major effects. My guess is, if the story is even true, they used the kind that has other ingredients like the “plus” versions. ]

Probably some dipshit(s) who drank the "sheep drench" / "Cow Drench" / "Horse drench" variety which is:

1. Mixed with denatured alcohol - ( Toxic )

2. Mixed with other anti-parasite drugs intended for TOPICAL ( on the skin ONLY ) use which is ALSO toxic when DRANK!

I’ve got a tube of Durvet brand horse paste here and when I did the math(which is on my profile page), it came out to be 113.6mg of Ivermectin in one tube. For my weight, that would give me 10 preventative doses at 11.36mg or 5 treatment doses at 22.72mg. The studies on https://ivmmeta.com/ generally used 12-48mg but it should go by weight.

Since I can get 10 preventative doses from a tube that does a 1250lb horse and I weigh 125lbs, it makes things real easy. Dial in pound for pound for preventative or dial in 250 horse pounds for treatment. A full treatment course is for 5 days which makes it even handier.

The article is either fakenews or people are taking a whole tube at once or more.

The trial using 168mg (Krolewiecki) did not have good results. It was one of the very few that had a negative impact (-152%).

The doc is making things up. For example, there are @zero accidental ivermectin sticks. The syringe is for the mouth, and it has no needle.

The doc thinks they slipped and stuck the syringe in their own mouth, or the assistant’s?

Crazy...

I posted about Ivermectin on a classic rock board that has been running a Covid-x thread for 18 months. My post was deleted in two hours.

I haven’t traveled to all that many places, but one thing that has always amazes me how you can buy so many things OTC in another country that is completely forbidden here.

I always think of adults with asthma. Not a human on the planet can tell my why someone needs a prescription for an albuterol inhaler.

They do. Look it up. Furthermore, if you can’t cut down a tablet you’re too stupid to take the stuff. We are surrounded by morons. Common sense isn’t common anymore.

Or, for those aren’t slamming a slab big enough for 3 horses on their tongues, it might actually work and God forbid the truth gets out that instead of $30,000 hospital stays, people can be helped for around $3, like they are in India.

In another article at the same site there is mention of one facility see 11 patients who had reactions to Ivermectin. Nausea and such.

No deaths mentioned anywhere that I’ve seen. If people are taking the amount for a 700-900 pound horse, which was mentioned, yeah they might have a problem.

You should read the discussion of this study.

“There was no significant difference in viral load reduction between groups overall, but a significant difference was found in patients with higher median plasma ivermectin levels (72% vs. 42%, p=0.004). Mean ivermectin plasma concentration levels correlated with viral decay rate (r=0.47, p=0.02). NCT004381884. Authors published a corrigendum: [1].”

the doses are marked for 150 lb increments, even hillbillys know not to treat a 500 lb horse with the full 1200 lb tube.

"Ivermectin has a wide therapeutic index and previous studies have shown doses up to 2000 mcg/kg (ie, 10 times the US Food and Drug Administration approved dose) are well tolerated and safe..."

https://www.researchprotocols.org/2016/4/e213/

Also: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/12362927/

A horse tube has 113,750 mcg of ivermectin. "Well tolerated and safe" for AN ENTIRE TUBE works out to a person who weighs 57 kg or 125 lbs!

It’s available in tablet form, already properly dosed for humans IF you know a doctor who will work with you.

I have a friend who got it from a doctor in Mexico that treated him for cancer.

I think the doc is saying people trying to treat cattle are used to accidentally giving themselves a shot instead. Must be an Oklahoma thing. Never been an issue at any ranch I’ve known of.
