I think someone placed a bet from there.
Well, we’re the Volunteer State; we’re used to giving the help, not accepting it!
And you’re probably correct-you were an unknown quantity. Think of how Idaho, Montana and Texas feels about Californians. LOL
The Farmers Almanac belongs right beside the Bible! But make sure you use the CORRECT Almanac; you can start a war picking the Farmers Almanac over the OLD Farmer’s Almanac!
I believe the calendars with the crop charts you’re talking about is planting by the signs. Not only do you plant, but also harvest and start your hens to sitting on eggs by the signs. Whether it’s actually true or just old wives’ tale, I’m not sure. I suspect a study has been done but I doubt any Appalachian gardener worth their salt will risk not following it!
They can explain the mechanics better than I; there’s a lot that goes into it. LOL https://www.almanac.com/content/planting-by-the-moon
Yes, I planted by it. Some old timers got me in to it.
It’s true. Every time I’ve ever needed some sort of support, my neighbors show up in the front yard. Amazing people. I didn’t realize that you’re from TN.
Yeah, not for those of you there
“I have heard Dr. Malone explain how they were finding the vax in all the organs where it is not supposed to be.”
This is a crazy world - that the tax campaign would continue is just...murder.
“We moved to the Volunteer State figuring that we could find a lot of opportunities here.”
What kind of opportunities were you looking for?
“I am 1 month, 1 day older than the United Stater Air Force”
That is so neat!
I always know when a reporter on our local stations aren’t from around here (”around” as in Midsouth, not just Nashville) because they pronounce some towns incorrectly.
We have a town here named Lafayette. It is not pronounced LAF-ee-yet; it’s pronounced Luh-fay-ett (or Luh-Fett if you have the right accent).
Let me guess; you were pronouncing it App-uh-LAY-chuh?
“You are a better person for having known them”
Definitely!
Mostly animal sanctuaries and libraries.
“Yes, I planted by it.”
I tried to, but usually the weather was off or I had something else going on. Could explain why I didn’t have good crops!
“App-uh-LAY-chuh”
Exactly. So weird that the rest of the country would pronounce it wrong.
Those are my favorite also. You’re not finding that they will let you help?
One animal sanctuary allowed me to volunteer when the director broke her foot and her volunteers were getting worn out. One head librarian accepted my services when a member of her staff was on maternity leave, but that was probably because I went to her church. She never asked me to fill out any paperwork. Otherwise, it was no dice. Oh, and as soon as about 50 of her dogs were transported to Best Friends, she told me that her work was manageable and that she didn’t need me any more. When I volunteered in AZ and Uta, they welcomed me with open arms. Go figure.
I’m disabled now, so that ship has sailed.
BIDENVILLE SLUM: Illegal Aliens Now Bathing in River, Washing Clothes as Numbers Swell to 14,000 from 4,000 on Wednesday (VIDEO)

The Bidenville slum swelled from 4,000 individuals to over 14,000 since Wednesday.
Most of the illegals are from Haiti where the COVID-19 vaccine rate is around 1%.
The illegals are now bathing and washing their clothes in the river.
Bianca Gracia, leader of Latinos for Trump, atold The War Room on Saturday that US Border Patrol agents are being told to move their families as the “Bidenville” illegal alien camp continues to swell. According to the agents, when the camp exceeds 18,000 it will be too dangerous in the area for their families.
Joe Biden is now importing third world slums into southern Texas.
This report from the border by Bill Melugin is pure insanity.
Democrats are not even hiding their absolute hatred of America today.

Please excuse—Utah. Used to spend some vacations volunteering at Best Friends in Kanab.
I lived in Lafayette California and it was pronounced Luh-fay-et.
