Greeting cards. Every occasion card I’ve rec’d for decades!
Exactly. As predicted.
I need to be ruthless! I know you and others that have lost everything in fire, I need to be in that mindset, what’s important.
As I’ve posted here, we just sold my folk’s house. Estate sale finished. Everything is gone. Just waiting for escrow to close. Sold the car on Friday.
But in going through their stash we found that they had saved hundreds of birthday, get well and Christmas cards. Most of what they saved were from children and grandchildren. They must have thrown out others.
In that stash were some treasures! We were able to return some of the best to the giver.
So maybe think about going through your cards and saving ones you think are the most precious and might be treasured by someone after your passing, then chuck the rest.

I have boxes of greeting cards too.
My mom saved 85 years of cards, boxes and boxes and boxes.
It became my job to sort through them.
I separated all the ones the family gave her and my dad from the friends.
Separated each family and gave them to a family member of each and told them it was up to them to separate by individual and give them to them.
It was a “Down Memory Lane” experience for me.
Friends of my parents wrote letters about their children, my childhood friends, so enjoyed this.
Took me one whole winter to get it done.
There where keepsakes also in the boxes, mom’s report cards, funeral programs of long departed relatives and many other things.
And to think my oldest niece just wanted to throw all the boxes away.
Very thankful we didn’t.
Love it!
The hand goes on top of the shoulder, Joe!
Yes, I once lost so very much in a fire but that was in ‘88 and I have saved everything since then.
And maybe that is why I have and it is so hard to part with all this stuff.
