Actually, the most dangerous word in modern history is “I”.

I mean, “I” is a dangerous word to statists. For the rest of us, “I” is a glorious word.

I had an English teacher in the 80s that assigned "Anthem" to us. I was just getting into Rush at that time, specifically "Fly By Night" which starts off, of course, with "Anthem." Later on I discovered 2112.

Such a teacher would be burned at the stake nowadays if she assigned that kind of 'seditious' literature.

“Beware of this word, indeed!”

I must have heard "I need indeed," "Indeed you do" commercials for the Indeed® job listings website so many times, that "indeed" might as well be the worst word in the English language.

My teachers would have had me expelled if I had brought Ayn Rand’s works to public school.

A few hated me for daring to read Connections and The Day The Universe Changed.

This was the late 80s.

I did not know of Ayn Rand or Atlas Shrugged.

My mom retired from the high school library. There was a copy that been there for decades. Only two or three checked it out.

How true. I had a social studies teacher in Jr. High that flipped out one day when a student called our country a democracy. She wheeled around on the student and stared at him for a full minute and finally said " This is a republic NOT a democracy and if you live long enough you will be very glad that it is".
