I don’t care about the unvaccinated. Believe me, I don’t. If you die of Covid, I feel like you took an informed risk and chose poorly. But I DO resent having to pay for your hospitalization. I really do. And I also resent that masks and shutdowns are coming back because of you lot.
That's very much a factor in blacks not getting the vaccine. In our political climate it's "racist" to point out that blacks are the highest percentage of not doing what the government wants. If someone pointed out the black factor in the unvaccinated, the whites of red state Alabama would be loud and proud in taking up for blacks' rights to do what they want with their bodies. That might actually go a long way in removing the blacks from being the loyal voting block for Dims that they've been since LBJ.
If cases and deaths are way, way, down from the highwater mark then how is this not fear-mongering hysteria?

Slip and fall is not a choice I made, it’s a pooled risk. Some people are going to slip and fall, at a predictable rate over time, and it’s included in the cost of insurance.
But getting sick from Covid is, in effect, a choice these people made.

Cases are rising as fast as they did in the previous waves. For the unvaxxed, it’s a matter of time before they are hospitalized at the same rates as occurred in previous waves (net of “natural immunity” effects of people with prior infections, that admittedly could help them a lot, or not help them depending on their immune systems.)
Agreed. Lifesite news is reporting on UK numbers where 40% of cases are among the vaccinated. Anyone think numbers might be similar worldwide?

40% of cases among the vaccinated, in a country where 90% of the population has been vaccinated, means that you have a 9 times greater chance of getting sick if you haven’t been vaccinated. You do know math, right?
