I think the sugar is sticky and keeps burning where as water would run off, but still burn.
Ever had hot glue stick to your skin? Ouch?
Unfortunately, taking the law into our own hands is the only way justice will be done in these days.
The criminals in this country will rue the day they defund the police, and stop prosecuting and incarcerating criminals. Private citizens and mobs are not given to leniency.
This indeed is America, but the crime took place in the U.K. Yes, it is appalling that so many here speak of revenge like this as appropriate. He may very well have been guilty, but this was not the right way to handle the situation. I think he was guilty, but still. This was murder because she gave such forethought to it. Must’ve been a big pot to hold 3 bags of sugar.
Do you think his son committed suicide for the fun of it?
Sugar concentrations can reach very high temperatures much higher than 212 F. It is also sticky like napalm. So, it could have been like pouring 400 degree glue on this guy...
The mother may have highly suspected it for years, yet didn’t dare broach the subject,, then when it was confirmed, decided to act. He may have also been a brutal person who held his family In fear. We don’t know all the details
Molten tar is bad stuff. I used to work with a guy that had a tattoo nipple. He’d been burned on the chest with tar. I heard from a guy whose uncle had gotten badly burned by tar. He said they just pumped him full of morphine and turned on the radio at the hospital.
My high school chemistry teacher demonstrated why you never heat a test tube from the bottom. It made an impression. A friend works with a lot of heliax in his radio business. Copper tubes separated by plastic. We had occasion to burn some, to salvage some copper. Point the ends in a safe direction, and throw it in a fire. If it built up a charge of molten plastic, it would spit it quite a ways, and it would stick and continue to burn. Nasty stuff.
She may have been frightened Into ignoring it after years of abuse. Women who know something is going on, and who have tried to confront their spouse about it, only to have the crap beat out of them time and time again, usually succumb to the fear and live with the abuse trying g to convince ce themselves that it’s not too bad. Brutal people Will gaslight their victims, make them very fearful, even convince them that they deserve the abuse. It’s a form of brainwashing through repeated abuse both physical and mental.
Not saying g that is how it happened in this case, but it does have the hallmarks of such a case
Some Will commit suicide because they feel such shame and guilt that they ‘didn’t do enough to stop the abuse even though they themselves were beat to pulp over and over by the abusive spouse.
Agree.
Abuse can be physical or mental.
Or both.
She deserved the key to the city, not what amounts to life in prison.
What if the kids lied, which kids are likely to do?
A teacher here was falsely accused. Lost his job, friends, military career and everything. They had to move to another city and am surprised she got a job there. The LE harassed him constantly and the prosecutor kept dragging out the case knowing the girl lied. Everyone who knew the girl knew she was mental and was lying. The girl admitted she’d lied after he put a bullet in his brain. She didn’t even get so much as a scolding.
Also putting sugar in water raises the boiling point a few degrees. It also lowers the freezing point, hence put salt in water in your ice cream maker ice bath.
“I hope this was a joke. You’ve read one article and have come to the conclusion that there was no abuse? That’s funny.”
No, as I said, I’ve seen no evidence of abuse.
That’s not the same that there is “no abuse”, Dr. Fauci.
You and Dr. Fauci have the same logic defect.
The sugar gets hotter than the boiling water would without it. It then dries quickly on contact but is still super hot.
“Do you think his son committed suicide for the fun of it?”
Just as likely he committed suicide because the mom was a looney toon.
It’s a data point that things were possibly not right in the house.
It doesn’t mean the father was an abuser.
“Assuming it is true and not just an excuse for murder, works for me.”
Agreed
BTW - Government shouldn’t kill people.
Give the aggrieved parties hammers, machetes and a blow torch and let them do it.
Right!! I’m still trying to figure out if the children were his or if he was their step father
