This thread is a non-political respite. No matter what, you won’t be flamed, and the only dumb question is the one that isn’t asked.

It is impossible to hijack the Weekly Gardening Thread. Planting, Harvest to Table Recipes, Preserving, Good Living - there is no telling where it will go - and that is part of the fun and interest. Hurray for Apples! Fingers crossed for a successful harvest for you!

I think if I just had apples and tomatoes, maybe some peppers in my gardens, I would be a Happy Camper. :)

This morning my Victory Garden gave me two cherry tomatoes and a cucumber; at least I won't STARVE until Lunchtime, LOL! Heading out to water while the Kitchen Garden is still somewhat shaded. We are looking at 90+, hazy hot and HUMID, today - them maybe some rain early in the week, but since our 'prognosticators' can't seem to get that right, I'm giving everyone a drink today, before the heat.Everything is looking great; I'll take more pictures next week so you can see the progress being made. Potatoes are blooming, so I may do a little digging in there for some New Potatoes for supper, tonight. We did out big '4th of July' celebrating yesterday, so today is just another day in the garden, then OUT of the heat in the afternoon, which works for me!

I’d never seen them before either - anywhere, and I go to at least four different nurseries, two garden centers, am on several different gardening sites, and I am always snooping around looking in other people’s gardens - even when I travel.

I was given one as a free gift at the fair one year when I bought a plumeria - decided to plant it and see what it did - and the results are what you see. I bought several more from Amazon (of all places) and they are putting out lots of leaves at the moment. The larger ones will need to be staked.

Not sure which zones they do best in - I’m in 9b.

Forgot to post this one, one of my prized possessions - that I got off of the "dead" table at Lowe's a number of years ago - a double hibiscus that looks like an orchid. Not a great bloomer, but when it blooms, it is magnificent.

I am in zone 4/5 southern Wisconsin. Looks like up north here, one could plant it after frost danger, and dig up and store at the end of the growing season.

"here in eastern washington it continues to be extremely dry with one brief thunderstorm in early June and that is all for us for 4 months.....very high temps.... I've replaced my lone hanging flower basket three times now....lets hope this present one survives....I've got it out of the sun.... I've had to water my garden by hand every single day, in addition to the sprinklers.."

Here, unlike last year, the Lord of Heaven and earth has enabled me to save over 400 gallons of water, and possible showers are predicted for all but one day for this week. Need more sun now.

It’s a beautiful pale apricot color. Never seen another one like it.

I think I paid a dollar for it at Lowe’s and it was 3/4 dead when I bought it.

Noticed I’m getting giant white fly again - sprayed it off with water this morning (again) - and put worm casing around the base a few days ago - the enzymes in the worm casings are supposed to get rid of white fly. We had a terrible problem here about 10 years ago - many garden centers stopped selling them around here, and there aren’t many in my neighborhood to this day. The giant white fly is a horrible, messy pest.

I am going to plant Long Island brussel sprouts....might try another variety also since I don’t know what will work best here in Zone 8B

Hi, concerned today as my patio planter, long and deep full of pansies is getting yellowed and mildly shriveled foliage. They have been getting plenty of water, could it be the heat? They get full sun for about 6-7 hours.
