Danny Smith (Source: Vickie Wilbanks) OCONEE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – An 8-year-old and a 9-year-old boy have been charged with killing a man who was shot with a rifle while cutting down brush in a South Carolina field, authorities said.
Both boys shot at Danny Andrew Smith with a rifle as he rode his tractor in the field near Westminster on June 23, Oconee County Sheriff Mike Crenshaw said in a statement.
Deputies responded to Coffee Road last week after a missing man’s wife was looking for her husband after not being able to make contact with him.

I’m not saying they were Black. You asked why another poster would assume they were and statistically it’s likely they are. But I won’t be shocked if they’re White. Dumbasses come in every color.
With a .22, you could shoot at a squirrel in a tree, but miss and hit a farmer quite a distance away.
Sick little bastards. I hope they get the maximum....death.
Black children are being taught by their elders that white people are the oppressive devils more than ever these days. Young’ns will be motivated by all the hate they’re subjected to. Bad things, even violence will come of all that indoctrination. I don’t know for sure who all was involved in this shooting, but 8-9 year olds is shocking. With all the hatred spewing these days, would it surprise you if it were a case of ‘hate whitey’?
We don’t execute eight year olds
Nor should we
First sentence for sure
Second sentence who knows
We can’t execute children...
Yes yes and yes
Some states allow juveniles to be held in adult prisons after 18 until aged 30
Contrary to lamentations here we can’t as a civilized culture execute 8 year olds
That’s crazy
That’s ridiculous
It’s not what I want
Some states will allow incarceration till aged 30
That’s about max allowable
I’m not in favor of executing children....but y’all feel free ....and no I’m not virtues signaling
Likely due to all my children maybe..juvenile can’t even take them at eight
It’s a quandary admittedly....they need help
The first thing I learned in high school rifle club was that a .22 rifle shell can travel a mile away and indeed can kill, so keep your gun in a safe position and the safety on at all times till you’re ready to fire it. And never fire randomly in open country.
Those kids and their families have ruined their lives and their parents should have taught them gun safety before letting them loose with one.
I know. I was angry. But I hope they are not let loose to try again.
Did they both take a shot.
Or,is one of them an accessory

Both
I know! I know exactly how it happened. To wit: the guys were out shooting squirrels. As they were creeping along the edge of the field with the loaded rifle set to fire. the one holding the gun fell into a rabbit hole, the gun went off and the bullet hit the nice man on the tractor.
The mortuary people need to look at the trajectory going into the man’s body. The trajectory often tells the tale of what really happened.
Video games?
Yes, old enough, but from just looking at the young people and everything happening around us I say reality has left town and stupidity is now the norm....
I had a neighbor here in rural MO tell me that more deer have been taken with a 22 than any other caliber. I guess truck hunting is a thing younger people do around here and hunting season means nothing to them. They just drive around with a 22 and when they see a deer, take a shot even if the vehicle’s still moving.
It’s amazing how many people on this forum are now indistinguishable from characters from The Turner Diaries.
I’ve killed hogs w/..22 short shells. It penetrates the bone enough to kill them.
