Dad still writes and arranges music, is writing a book, does a lot of gardening, and cooks for himself. He keeps up an active correspondence via email. His doctor’s office has warned he may need assisted living very soon. Um, that might kill him.
What a remarkable man your dad is!!
I know that you know, but...what a wonderful blessing.
Thank you for sharing.

My husbands BIL reluctantly went into the retirement home about 3 yrs ago at 93 because his daughter who lives in Texas told him she would feel better. She told me they wouldn’t sell his house for at least a year so if he couldn’t stand living there he could go back home. He LOVED it there because he is such a talker and knows no stranger. He had lots of people to talk with there and things to do. After he recently fell out of his bed and cracked his hip he was going to go back but this time to the assisted living part. Then he fell again while in the re-hab and now they don’t expect him to live much longer so re-hab is keeping him there. :-(
Wow, your dad is very busy. I think one of the worst things about assisted living is a lot of times they are in there with people that are not all there. I would guess it’s really hard for the coherent ones to be surrounded by ones that aren’t doing so well mentally.
I forgot to ask, what is his book about?
