I'm so like him and refuse to ask for help from kids when things get rough,it's awful at times. I do enjoy my peace and still feel I can do this on my own. So sad ,I can't ask for help because of pride! My biggest flaw!
I’ve found all sorts of info about losing Hong Kong permanent residence status if you’re gone more than 36 months, but nothing saying how long you have to stay in Hong Kong to reset that 36 month clock. I can see where a country would want you return for a substantial period of time, especially for someone who’s not a citizen. They want to see some effort on your part that you’re committed to the country.
I know Portugal requires you to not be gone longer than 24 continuous months, or for a period of 30 non-consecutive months over 5 years.

I think altogether he’ll end up being in Hong Kong for about a month? 2 weeks in quarantine, he’s been out for about 1.5 weeks, so if he comes back this weekend, that’ll be about 4 weeksin total
