Yes I was her primary caregiver it was just AWFUL to see her in that condition out of no where!! She passed very quickly only 2 months but I have been in such a dark place for the last 2 days even knowing it was so much better for her, the sadness just won’t go away!!
Grieving can take a while, everyone is different. 2 days isn’t that long, although it probably feels like longer.
So sorry for your loss, Kit Cat.
Dementia/Alzheimer’s is a terrible disease that robs us of our loved ones as we try to cope with their care.

OF COURSE you are in a dark place the last two days. I bet you have a pain in your stomach that doesn’t respond to anything. I bet you can’t think. I bet you you have a bit of a headache. I bet you’re hungry but want to vomit if you put a bite of food near your mouth. The sadness OF COURSE doesn’t go away.
I think we do ourselves a disservice when we say, “Let’s CELEBRATE their life!” Well, yes. BUT, it is okay to be sad when someone dies. I hope someone will be sad when I die and no longer in their life. I hope someone misses me.
