He has a lot more to worry about this morning.
A truck with a boom came around his corner and took out his power pole, landed in his front yard, transformer blew.
Was told to evacuate but wasn't allowed to move his vehicles as the street was blocked off so hubby went and picked him up down the street from his house and took him to Nurse Jackie's home.

I’ve been reading a book about the Holocaust, about the liberation of concentration camp prisoners. It has actual quotes from the released prisoners, taken decades later. They give so much credit to the United States, it is very heartwarming. They talked about these 18 year old American soldiers, who gave their rations to them and gave them the coats off their backs. And the soldiers, sleep-deprived and battlesore, went into the nearest town and had the bakery working full-time to bake for the prisoners. And they went door-to-door collecting clothing and toiletries for them. And asking people if they would take a prisoner into their home for the night.
Not to mention they beat the Germans militarily :-)
Who knew that would be the end of our days doing what’s right, just because it’s right.

Just got back. Car temp said 104° when I got in car. Cooled down to 93°.....drove through a little rain shower and it cooled down to 88°.
Still feels like a sauna 🥵

There is a flash flooding warning on the radio until 3:45.
Oh goody, more rain.
At least our temp is holding in the mid 80’s.
