Wow, I’m impressed with both of yours adventurous spirit, starting over with a new career. I’m so sorry it didn’t work out.

I tried teaching, hated it. It’s an awful thing to be stuck in an awful job, looking at many decades of it. I guess that’s how they get teachers to stay, with the pension and medical. It’s a shame cuz many bad teachers that need to leave the profession don’t.

The fence around the US Capitol is slated to come down starting Friday, July 7.

Citing anonymous sources, AP first broke the news July 2.

Removal is expected to begin as early as Friday and take place over the following three days. That’s according to an alert from Sergeant at Arms William J. Walker sent to Members of Congress and Congressional Staff.

“Based on USCP’s assessment of the current threat environment and United States Capitol Police (USCP)’s enhanced coordination with District of Columbia, neighboring state and federal law enforcement partners, the Board supports USCP’s recommendation to remove the termporary fencing around Capitol Square,” reads the alert.

‘White House advisers are trying to turn the tables on the GOP with a new talking point’

The Washington Post’s Fact-Checker dinged the White House for claiming Republicans were “defunding the police,” giving the eyebrow-raising talking point “Three Pinocchios.”

Recent remarks by White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki and senior Biden adviser Cedric Richmond had sought to turn the tables on months of some progressive Democrats advocating for slicing or even dismantling municipal police department budgets. Their logic was GOP opposition to the $1.9-trillion coronavirus relief bill passed this year amounted to supporting defunding police, since $350 billion was allocated for state and local government aid.

“Although Republicans all opposed Biden’s coronavirus relief package, no one voted to cut, or defund, anything. Rather, Democrats proposed $350 billion in emergency funds for state and local governments, and Republicans voted against those extra funds. That’s not a reduction,” the Post’s Glenn Kessler wrote.
