The bigger rocks near the road each have a story.
Hubby likes to find and collect unusual rocks.
He hauls them back from all over.
He loves to see folks who are out walking, stop and point to a particular rock and talk about it.
We live in the forest and most people prefer the “natural” look and don’t plant lawn but maybe some flowers here and there.
If we have had a good winter and a wet spring we have a wild lawn with lots of wildflowers that I get angry at hubby for mowing down.
It is sacrilegious to cut down a tree. LOL
But sometimes it can’t be helped like when we were told to clear any trees within 10 ft. of your home because of fire danger, a few had to go.
Yes, he endorsed Abbott already.
The soil is actually volcanic clay so it does pool and takes a bit to absorb in.
But we have gotten rain for 3 straight days and the ground hasn’t dried out.
Beautiful to behold.
This rain is really helping with the fires.
No idle pledge, very impressive.
And our representatives now we’re hiding from a pretend riot, and used that as an excuse to not object to the electors.
They should be ashamed.

Love it! Thanks for posting. Today is a hot one here. My grandson came over and we figured how to use my chimney smoke charcoal starter (I watched a couple videos yesterday) and we grilled jumbo shrimp. I made a big batch of copycat Red Lobster biscuits, and he took a bunch home to his half brother ge lives with.
Good 4th, but now I’m tired.
Great American pastime.
ROFL.
This woman didn’t save any money as I bought fresh jumbo shrimp. Which wasn’t on Biden’s menu.
I did notice cheese going way up in price.

We had rain this morning, for little bit, that really cooled things down.
Our group left out just after lunch, so we’re sort of cleaning/straightening up.
Our area fireworks show was last night. Not bad....lasted almost a half hour.
The little cousins were cute in their matching 4th shirts.
We were pretty tired, after the busy day.....and, what I was able to catch of the amazing rally :)
Just relaxing, now.
Now that you know how to fire up the grill with that starter, you’ll be grillin’ and chillin’ all year! We’ll be right over, with the steaks 😍
