The South Carolina supreme court halted the executions of Brad Sigmon and Freddie Owens, ruling that officials needed to put together a firing squad to give them the option of how to be killed.
Sigmon, 63, was scheduled to be executed using the electric chair on Friday, the first use of capital punishment in the state in a decade.
He was convicted of killing his ex-girlfriend's parents with a baseball bat in 2002.
Owens' electric chair execution was set for 25 June, having been convicted of murdering a store worker during a robbery in 1999.
The state recently changed its capital punishment law to address a shortage of lethal injection drugs.
It now forces death row inmates to choose between electrocution or firing squad if the drugs are unavailable.

How can there be a shortage of those types of drugs? Are they being over prescribed?
Did the perps ask their victims how they wanted to die?
From what I understand their difficult to obtain because of protests against selling them to states for execution purposes.
I think there’s only 1 or 2 companies in the world that can supply it
I believe veterinarians use them as well but hard to get hold of because of protests (could be wrong).

Why waste good voltage? That’s at least one good electric vehicle charge up.
The lead remedy is the only one they should offer.Economical, instantaneous and fail safe? Why the prevarication and postponement?
I mean the Alinskyites can get to practice the socialist way used by their Russian commie friends back in the day, A 9mm to the back of a kneeling head.
Or the Chinese Commies of the PRC use opium injections to render the executed unconscious and then harvest their live organs to sell.They make big money off executions!The state could donate all that money to BLM!

What’s the problem here? Lots of lethal drugs are available.
A massive injection of morphine would do the trick. Fentanyl would would also work.
Is hanging no longer PC?
