Yesterday, it was toes in the surf and beach picnics. Today, the hotel is closed. Merkel spent effort to ensure she was photographed multiple times with the Queen. And everyone was hands on, their mutual giggling and roundhousing more reflective of a prep school reunion than a sombre cadre of leaders intent on solving highbrowed issues affecting us all.

Wow. Where did you get small pox? It is horrible/killer. I remember watching a gruesome special about it on TV - probably PBS or 60 minutes- when I was a kid and so glad to be vaccinated.
