Nope, we live in a place where seafood is relatively cheap and my wife doesn’t like to cook!..................

😂

Do you like to grill?

That’s hubby’s cooking specialty. And, the only way we cook fish (outside).

My personal belief is the day will come when statin manufacturers will be sued like tobacco companies for similar reasons.

Cholesterol clogs arteries where there are lesions like a patch over a leaky innertube, but what causes lesions requiring the patches? High blood sugar/ insulin would be my guess.

A few years ago I asked my doctor if coronary artery buildups could be attributed to inflammation; that cholesterol was a response and not a cause, and he said that was a credible theory.

Bodybuilding can be stressful. Some confuse fitness with health. Here’s an example from the marathoning world.

Dr. Arthur Siegel, director of Internal Medicine at McLean, and his collaborators analyzed the blood of marathoners less than 24 hours after finishing a race and found abnormally high levels of inflammatory and clotting factors of the kind that are known to set the stage for heart attack.

But it’s okay if it doesn’t improve the health or longevity of the patient?

Then there are the studies that show for women, there are more heart attacks in women in the low range of cholesterol than in the mid range.

“that cholesterol was a response”

Winner. They think the symptom is the cause. The body produces cholesterol to help combat stress. It’s like thinking a fever is the bad guy ibstead of properly understanding it is a response to a bad guy.

“And I have type 2 diabetes.”

And you didnt mention one word about your diet. Your dna may be a coincidence but I’d bet your diet is a wall sized case of smoking guns.

There’s no money to make pushing that narrative.

You might like this pdf by Dr Uffe Ravnskov. Found it very insightful and understandable. “ A highly qualified doctor and scientist analyzes the studies used to justify the cholesterol hypothesis and demonstrates that the idea that animal fats and cholesterol cause heart disease is based on flimsy, even fraudulent evidence and wishful thinking. Includes a discussion on the dangers of vegetable oils and cholesterol-lowering drugs.”

I like the phrase about turning a doctor into a pharmaceutical salesman. So true. I have a nephew whose wife was a pharmaceutical sales rep. Her entertainment budget was $140,000 per year. She said the doctors that prescribed the most were treated to deep sea fishing, baseball game and trips. She quit the job out of a sense of disgust with the practices of the profession.

I did mention that I was 128 lbs... And I’m 5’6”... That’s a very health weight... I.E. I have no fat. If I were 250 lbs.. You would have a point.

I used to know another pharmaceutical sales rep.

He spent a lot of time bass fishing on the local lakes with doctors in his sales territory.

But again you didn’t mention diet. I’ve known alcoholics that were that thin or thinner and they were diabetic from years of heavy drinking.

Yeah, I never ran marathons. I was a 3 mile, 3 day a week jogger. My weightlifting was intense by normal standards, but not to the level of extreme exhaustion. What I’m saying is that to believe that my physical fitness caused my heart attack is just not really believable.

Homocysteine is a much better predictor of heart health.

The “experts” will say that one person being studied is meaningless, and don’t eat more than 5 eggs a week.
Never mind that. If he’s lonely, he’ll have to cut down, or find a lady who has no sense of smell.
