My personal belief is the day will come when statin manufacturers will be sued like tobacco companies for similar reasons.
Cholesterol clogs arteries where there are lesions like a patch over a leaky innertube, but what causes lesions requiring the patches? High blood sugar/ insulin would be my guess.
A few years ago I asked my doctor if coronary artery buildups could be attributed to inflammation; that cholesterol was a response and not a cause, and he said that was a credible theory.
