A driver heading the wrong way on Interstate 75 in Kentucky struck a vehicle carrying five people, killing all six, authorities said. A southbound car being driven in the northbound lanes struck the family’s car Saturday in Lexington. Four of the victims were children, Lexington police said in a statement

Painful but details are necessary to fully understand. Was the driver of the wrong way vehicle licensed? Was he intoxicated on alcohol or drugs? Who was he?
Name was “Jamaica Natasha Caudill”.
I’m guessing he was a “she”.

Sounds like a smaller scale repeat of the I-75 Radcliff Bus crash in May 1988. Same scenario: drunk driver traveling north in the southbound lane. That one killed 27, mostly kids.
Had to be on something. Or, benefit of the doubt, perhaps a seizure orsome other health crisis?
You know? We don’t think often enough about what police, paramedics, and firefighters must deal with on a daily basis.

There was an accident like that some years ago on I-81 south of Syracuse.
The driver going in the wrong direction was drunk out of her mind. She survived. He didn’t.
Yes, alcohol and/or drugs were more than likely involved.
That was on I-71, not I-75. I pass the sign a few times a year when going from Louisville back to Cincinnati.
We’ve has two of these wrong way accidents near me recently. Two off duty cops (a married couple) were killed in one.
How in the world do you get on the interstate going the wrong way?
A number of areas have sudden spikes in wrong way drivers when marijuana is legalized. There is no official test to confirm it, so it’s listed as an impaired driver.
My wife’s nephew was killed the same way. A Senile old man stole the keys, was going the wrong way on I-40 in Memphis and smashed head on into him.

I, too, remember seeing that sign quite awhile back when we were headed up to Columbus, OH to a Mopar meet.

My kid brother was a paramedic in the Miami, FL area for years. It finally got the best of him and he had to quit.
Took years, and a dry out clinic, for him to get back to some resemblance of whatever “normal” is for those kinds of folks.
