The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are based on "messenger" RNA. The RNA is encapsulated in a lipid layer consisting of propylene glycol (a petrochemical).
This is the biological definition of a virus. (In this case a synthetic virus.)

The companies did the standard 3 phases that went through rigorous assessments by independent scientists? The mRNA vaccines have been around and studied for about 10 years. The companies are also doing a phase 4 while providing the vaccines to people.
The vaccines were not rushed to market at all but for the Russian and a Chinese one. And Trump lead the way to remove unnecessary red tape and wants everyone to take the vaccines.
