Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday issued a statement to endorse Texas Gov. Greg Abbott for reelection, praising the governor for his policies on the U.S. southern border, the Second Amendment, and election integrity.
βGreg Abbott is a fighter and a Great Governor for the incredible people of Texas,β the former president said in a statement circulated by his Save America political action committee. βNo Governor has done more to secure the Border and keep our communities safe than Governor Abbott. Greg is a staunch defender of the Second Amendment and has made Texas a Second Amendment Sanctuary State.β

Who else is a contender? BetoBoi?
Can always do better but Texas isnβt as super red as we would like. Pointless risking the loss of a Stupid Party governorship ahead of 2024.
Matthew Mask McConaughey :)
Is Abbott even in danger? Trump would not have endorsed him if Abbott didn’t ask. I think that Trump is building a bigger movement, that will translate to more support the next time Trump is elected.
For reasons that would take a while for me to explain I think that’s Trump’s role from now on...King maker. His endorsement will carry huge weight.
I thought Ken Paxton was running for Gov. of Texas I think he deserves a chance I really like him and I have seen Abbott go squishy sometimes!,
Illegals STILL overwhelming Texas.. HELLO GOV?
Abbott is following Ron Desantis’ lead. He is not a leader. However, if he gets in a primary with Paxton he will be in trouble.
LOL...you really think he’s a contender?
:-)

I’ve said the exact same thing.
Agree, completely.
The dims don’t like Abbott. They hate Paxton.
I like Paxton based on that.
Maybe on Paxton, but his performance on the Texas Lawsuit vs the Big Steal (forever shall it be known) reminds me of a collie dog we used to herd goats 50 years ago. Boy was he smart! Tell him and his partner to “pen em” and you could consider 500 goats penned. And that’s no exaggeration.
But, he also knew bad guys too. One day a neighboring rancher drove up in his pickup and that little collie ran and hid. We always suspected that rancher had kicked him or maybe even shot at him.
I think Paxton mismanaged that lawsuit and then ran and hid when the Robert’s group of liberals ruled against him. Abbott doesn’t kick doors in I agree. But, he’s steady, in my humble opinion.
As a result, many Texas conservatives are sick and tired of the pro-freedom rhetoric and statist policies of the GOP establishment. I doubt Trump is familiar with the details of Texas politics, so I will give him a pass on his endorsement of Abbott.
Yes.
“No Governor has done more to secure the Border and keep our communities safe than Governor Abbott”....
Well, the only other ‘border state’ Govs are lib NM, CA and AZ Govs. So, that is a low bar, Mr President.
And, these folks would beg to differ....

I heard Huffines on a radio interview last week.
Sounds like a good leader.
Hat tip to the Michael Berry Show.
Trump’s biggest downfall is his inability to pick good people.
I am supporting Huffines.
I heard the same interview. Unfortunately when asked for details on what border security looks like, “Finish the Trump wall” was the only specific and nothing resembling a detail on how to accomplish that. Also a question about his plan to get rid of property taxes. NO specifics. Not one. Not even an inkling of an example. He may have conservative bona-fides, but he’s going to have to improve his elevator speech, because he sounded too much like Beto in that interview. He talked for 1/2 hour and actually said nothing.
NO! Greg is AN IDIOT!
Crud, why does Trump endorse lukewarm candidates?
