“By June, nobody is going to be wearing masks. By June, I think, the prevalence [of Covid] is going to be sufficiently low in this country [and[ we’re just not going to be concerned about it,” the former Food and Drug Administration commissioner said on CNBC’s “Squawk Box.”

By June? That’s absurd. Possibly by the end of the summer we’ll see a large majority of people - nationally - going into public places without a mask. But by June? That’s some fanciful thinking right there.
Thanks everyone for the replies.
I have no problem with people wearing masks forever as long as they leave the rest of us alone. Some people have immune system problems and believe they need to wear masks, and that’s fine. It’s just the control freaks and wheedling manipulative concern trolls that get my goat.
The pipeline thing was very temporary and is over. I’m staying with my theory that the masking after vaxxing caused people to question the vaccines, and the govt is worried that’s why vaxx rates have gone down.
Whatever the reasons behind all this, the important thing is the virus is looking like it’s fading and the non-mask movement is looking stronger, and maskers are declining in practice and in influence.
Good news all around, friends.
I hear that in ny it’s still ‘illegals to go maskless
Masks are already more out than in here, I think different regions move at different speeds. We know a liberal in Seattle who will probably wear one for the rest of her life so I get your point!
OK, so when can we go into an airport or on a bus or train without masking up?
He just relaxed masks starting Wednesday. Not bad considering it’s only days after red states did.
Most people here tossed the masks last June.
Dr Scott, another revolving door person in and out of fedgov. Currently serving on the board of Pfizer.
From that article:
*** Whenever Joe Glickman heads out for groceries, he places an N95 mask over his face and tugs a cloth mask on top of it. He then pulls on a pair of goggles.
He has used this safety protocol for the past 14 months. It did not change after he contracted the coronavirus in November. It did not budge when, earlier this month, he became fully vaccinated.***
How amazing is it that, even in the face of contracting CoVid while wearing all of this, the man simply doesn’t understand that doing so didn’t protect him at all?
Stupid is as stupid does.
Open up the Churches by next month!!! No masks, no social distancing, allow singing! Serbian lunches and picnics, and coffee hours for all!!!!
The majority of us—adults and older teens anyway— are vaccinated!!
Christ is Risen!!!! Fear and death are defeated!!!!
I think that depends on where you live. In my town, there are only a few mask wearing holdovers. In the bigger towns that surround me, I see more of them, but already about 50/50. By June, I do expect to see that change to mostly unmasked.
I finally got to go to my church yesterday! We have chairs instead of permanent pews, so every chair had been placed 6 ft from every other chair until this week. I refused to go until I could attend sitting next to my husband.
Most people are wearing masks, but there were several who didn’t. I still have trouble breathing with them on correctly, so I had mine pulled down for most of the service.
I have sorely missed my church family, and I was excited to get back to worshiping in public.
Great question, answer unknown. Just had a friend tell me he's going to Cancun and friends who were also going are chickening out because you have to test negative to get on plane (which is OK) but if you test positive upon arrival (false positive is possible) you have to quarantine for 2 weeks, and NOT at the resort, at a govt "facility".
I think the funniest are the people driving around in the car with a mask on and all the windows up.
I would guess citizens of the Peoples Republic of Austin will be wearing masks well into the fall.
Joe is stoopid...masks make people sick...and he’s proof...IMHO
The Antiochian Archdioces (nationwide USA) and Greek Metropolis of Pittsburgh dropped masked mandates (for the vaccinated) prior to this past Saturday’s Vespers.
Still way too many people wearing but it will change.
yup, follow the money
