A resident of a Florida retirement community angry over the thickness of a tomato was charged with a felony after she hurled racial slurs and a sandwich at a Black fast food-chain employee.
According to records from the Wildwood Florida Police Department seen by the Villages News, Judith Ann Black, 77, was dining at a Burger King in the nearby Trailwinds Village last Friday when she confronted an employee about her unsatisfactory sandwich.
According to the News, Black was angry over the thickness of the tomato slice on her Whopper, and the Burger King employee who was unnamed in the report, tried to calm Black down - but Black threw the Whopper at the employee's back.
Black then stormed out, but not before spouting several expletives including the N-word, calling the employee a "stupid Black b----," according to the police report seen by Villages News. The outlet verified this with the manager and another worker at the Trailwinds Burger King, as well as a customer who witnessed the exchange.
Wildwood police tracked Black down and booked her at the Sumter County Detention Center, but released her later on a $2,500 bond.
According to police records seen by the News, Black admitted to being "angry" that the employee was not "fixing the issue," and confirmed that she had thrown the Whopper at the Burger King worker.
The police record referenced by the Villages News also indicated that Black's use of racial slurs altered "the charge of battery from a misdemeanor of the first degree to a felony of the third degree under Florida State Statute 775.085." This statute is known as the "hate crime statute," which increases the minimum and maximum penalties that a judge could impose.

The “knockout game” from a few years back resulted in few arrests. It was strictly blacks randomly knocking out whites. That 77 year old must have quite an arm to inflict enough pain to warrant jail time.

The Villages are a group of large retirement communities in central Florida that are overwhelmingly white and Republican.

I was in my local, small town McDonald’s when a white woman who had apparently just been through the drive through came in to complain about getting pickles when she had said no pickles. She was in-your-face loud and abusive. During the dialog she said, “I’m not the type to complain over nothing.” I rarely go to McDonald’s and I recognized this as the same woman who had loudly complained about something trivial the last time. The black employee she was talking to rolled her eyes and said under her breath, “You come in here and complain every day.” The complainer turned bright red and screamed, “I demand to see the manager!”
My wise mother once told me, “There are some people who are loud and abusive to your face because it makes them high. It makes them feel good.” This woman certainly fit the bill. A McDonald’s employee is the perfect whipping boy. The company won’t let them defend themselves. (And, for good reason. Any defense will likely trigger a lawsuit which McD would almost certainly lose.)
My point is, the world is full of loud, abusive people who get high off verbally or physically attacking people who, for the most part, can’t or aren’t allowed to defend themselves.
The answer is a manager with balls. (Or, a manager who self identifies as having balls.) Someone needs to tell these people that they are no longer welcome. It’s an ugly confrontation. But as the woman in my example demonstrates, unless something is done to protect the employees this will happen every day.
Action-reaction. It’s a natural law.
Someone hearing themselves called “racist” over and over and over and over...there’s gonna be reaction.
Is the hope of the race baiters to foment violent reactions from (until now peaceful and non-racist) whites?
