Hi there!
Still in the 90s here in Wisconsin.
No likey.
đ
Hope y’all are doing fine!
đ
Thank you.
Bible in a Year:
Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him.
In the twilight of her years, Mrs. Goodrichâs thoughts came in and out of focus along with memories of a challenging and grace-filled life. Sitting by a window overlooking the waters of Michiganâs Grand Traverse Bay, she reached for her notepad. In words she soon wouldnât recognize as her own she wrote: âHere I am in my favorite chair, with my feet on the sill, and my heart in the air. The sun-struck waves on the water below, in constant motionâto where I donât know. But thank Youâdear Father aboveâfor Your innumerable gifts and Your undying love! It always amazes meâHow can it be? That Iâm so in love with One I canât see.â
The apostle Peter acknowledged such wonder. He had seen Jesus with his own eyes, but those who would read his letter had not. âThough you have not seen him . . . you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joyâ (1 Peter 1:8). We love Jesus not because weâre commanded to, but because with the help of the Spirit (v. 11) we begin to see how much He loves us.
Itâs more than hearing that He cares for people like us. Itâs experiencing for ourselves the promise of Christ to make the wonder of His unseen presence and Spirit real to us at every stage of life.
Reflect & Pray
Read 1 Peter 1:3â9 again. In what ways do these words show you how our God makes the inexpressible real to us? How open are you to the Spirit of Jesus, who lives in and among us?
Our Father in heaven, please help me to see the miracle of Your love and presence in Your Son and to believe in Your Spirit.
Red Geraniums ~ Martha Haskell Clark
Life did not bring me silken gowns,
Nor jewels for my hair,
Nor signs of gabled foreign towns
In distant countries fair,
But I can glimpse, beyond my pane, a green and friendly hill,
And red geraniums aflame upon my window sill.
The brambled cares of everyday,
The tiny humdrum things,
May bind my feet when they would stray,
But still my heart has wings
While red geraniums are bloomed against my window glass,
And low above my green-sweet hill the gypsy wind-clouds pass.
And if my dreamings neâer come true,
The brightest and the best,
But leave me lone my journey through,
Iâll set my heart at rest,
And thank God for home-sweet things, a green and friendly hill,
And red geraniums aflame upon my window sill.

Lâ€ïžVE that!! I need some of those red geraniums!
Hope your weather [and mine!!! 104 today] cools off soon! Don’t work too hard.
I’ve had the same geraniums for-ever. Super-easy to propagate, and I use them as houseplants in the winter months. I fertilize heavily then, and I have blooms all winter.
I just love them. One of my favorite plants; always cheerful. :)
What a great way to cheer up during the dreary gray winter months!
Hello there! Was 94 here today. It just won’t rain. Really need it now. Glad to be back home from work.
Have a nice evening!
đ
Hi! It was nice today, and after a morning lesson and bike ride, I took my sister and B-I-L to Plymouth for some mask-free restaurant eating, live music, and antiques shopping.
I didn’t buy anything but it sure was nice.
Sounds like my cup of tea! I haven’t been antique shopping for a long time.
đ
Well, there is a lot of old stuff in Plymouth, as the town just celebrated its 400th birthday.
Cool! Stuff that’s older than me. đ
Bible in a Year:
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
The same assurance was true for the people of Israel. We had chosen a different church for a time, but they had turned their backs on God. Yet He welcomed them back. He sent the prophet Isaiah to assure them, âDo not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mineâ (Isaiah 43:1).
In this worldâwhere we can feel unseen, unappreciated, and even unknownâbe assured that God knows each of us by name. âYou are precious and honored in my sight,â He promises (v. 4). âWhen you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over youâ (v. 2). This promise isnât just for Israel. Jesus ransomed His life for us. He knows our names. Why? In love, we are His.
Reflect & Pray
Why does God welcome His people back to Him? How has He shown that He knows you by name?
Jesus, when I stray from Your arms and Your fellowship, summon me home by name. Iâm so grateful to be Yours.

Well, if it isn’t, these 100 degree temps are waaaaay out of their place!
Indeed. Same here. (Although Today was nice.)
