The Florida Legislature passed a sweeping election bill Thursday night that would make significant changes to mail voting in the state after a record number of Floridians voted by mail in the 2020 election.
*The bill would add ID requirements for voters requesting to vote by mail.
*Driver's license or state ID number or the last four digits of their Social Security Number
*make voters request mail ballots more frequently.
*Drop boxes are one of the bill's main targets

Here come the calls to boycott Florida.
Good. If the left boycott all good and decent places, we are better off.
Jim crow, racist, etc.
Now that that’s out of the way, it looks like a good, common sense Bill.
And who doesn’t support common-sense election reform?
Bingo!
I’ll take “Who are Democommies” for $2,000 Alex.
Excellent!
We need similar laws in a whole bunch of other states. Arizona may be doable - especially if the audit of Maricopa county turns up what I expect it will.
We will need to take out the governors of Michigan and Wisconsin and Pennsylvania to get similar laws passed there. I think the chances of taking down Gestapo Gretchen and Evers in Wisconsin are pretty good.
Georgia also needs to further tighten up its election laws.
Requiring a valid state ID# on absentee ballots is perhaps the single most important measure to prevent voter fraud. If properly enforced, this completely removes the subjective interpretation of signature verification from poll workers. The 2020 election saw a near-universal abandonment of any meaningful signature verification, especially in the more populated counties not just because many urban areas willfully ignored the cheating going on, but because the sheer volume was unmanageable so everything counted.
There must also be a total ban on drop boxes and ballot harvesting.

Agreed. At least in Georgia, the drop boxes are to be located inside early voting locations. Speaking of early voting, I'd like to see that eliminated too though I'm afraid we're stuck with that one.
P
DeSantis 2024!
Florida is doing great these days!
PING!
Simple question:
With in person early voting for two weeks before an election, why do we need absentee ballots for anyone except the infirmed or those who legitimately are out of state during the two week period?
I agree. Our voting rules set by each state vary all over
the landscape.
But I’m okay with that. Take it up with your State. Resist federal control.
Certainly wouldn't break my heart! Do "the way we do it up north", up north!
