Just as we at OutKick predicted, the 93rd Academy Awards ceremony tanked to unimaginable lows. The 2021 Oscars fell more than 50% year-over-year in overnight ratings, OutKick has learned. Here’s a look at the past three years:
2021: 8.9/19
2020: 18.1/33
2019: 21.6/36
DRAGGED ACROSS CONCRETE wasn’t even nominated, so no.
We watched it. The wifey couldn’t stand the thought of missing it.
It was a clever idea to use Union Station as the venue, and it did have a nice feel as a posh dinner club with a night out.
But of course it was nothing but an endless stream of Angry Africans decrying Duh Poleese while handing out oskies to Woketard Caucasians for movies that no one has seen or even heard of.
Who needs another lecture how bad we Americans are. Even prime-time TV show (e.g., the last Station 19) is now lecturing me. According to that show, even saying “I’m not a racist” means you are a racist. She also pointed out that “systemic racism” is manifested by the fact that 58% of the US prison population is black while only 13% of the population is black. Why couldn’t it mean that 58% of crimes are committed by blacks?
Racism exists, but it is a learned behavior. Rather than black telling whites what they need to do to fix it, how about blacks quit yelling they’re a victim and start getting their own house in order? The core is a black problem, but I see nothing in the black community being done to fix the problem, other than blaming everyone else.
There were no real popular films nominated due to the pandemic. The one picture I saw that should have been nominated was one I saw on Netflix called, “I Care For You”, with Rosamund Pike and it was really good I think she won the Golden Globe for her performance.
With such a collapse in ratings the Oscars are now nothing to watch. Once you lose that kind of numbers the chances of reclaiming that is about Zero. They are and the rest of the award shows are just not worth watching when you get nothing but Wokeness and Political Lecturing from Idiots.
This year though, they politicized it in both the introduction (by someone who I have no idea who she was) and then at the end by changing the order. They also rushed through it so quickly it was difficult to reflect on some of the names or people.
I also noted that the venue, Union Station, had been cleaned up by removing the homeless people that inhabit the place.
I was watching an old Charlton Heston disaster movie.
“They talked, and talked, and talked, and when we finally reached the In Memoriam, beloved lost Hollywood royalty like Sean Connery, Boseman, Ennio Morricone, Carl Reiner, Christopher Plummer and Cloris Leachman were sped through like an afterthought.”
Sometimes that’s the best part of the show. I used to watch the Oscars just for that segment but for the past several years I just look it up on the web later. Here it is;

No applause or time for it. By the time one could start clapping they move on the next actor. Blink and you’ll miss some.
This was the third year in a row she has refused to watch any of it.
Which one, he made a series of them in 1970’s and they were all successful, he took little upfront money and had backend deals on everything.
By the way Two Minute Warning was a real good film.
Hollywood no longer cares about America. Americans are no longer their main audience.
Ever wondered why there are so many “action” movies? It is simple, lot of action little dialog. Foreign audiences love them.
Ever wonder why there are so few movies where Americans are the hero, simple, many foreign audiences hate Americans and cheer when we are the bad guys. Hollywood caters to the masses, it is just American are no longer the masses.
I would have made book that Black actor Chadwick Boseman was going to win regardless because he had died, only actor to win like that was Peter Finch for Network and it was well deserved.
The shock of Hopkins winning was all over Twitter and lots of angry people talking about it. Just shows that the majority of the Academy is still overwhelming older and probably white, regardless of diversity.
The way they portray Americans in movies these days, even I root against them.
And gays.
The rumor is that they left "Best Actor" for last instead of "Best Picture" because they were so sure Bozeman would win it and it would be a "moving end" to the ceremony.
Dharma. is frickin delicious
Below 10 million viewers for the first time ever.
I didn’t know they were on either. I would not have watched the if I had known.
