I would have made book that Black actor Chadwick Boseman was going to win regardless because he had died, only actor to win like that was Peter Finch for Network and it was well deserved.
The shock of Hopkins winning was all over Twitter and lots of angry people talking about it. Just shows that the majority of the Academy is still overwhelming older and probably white, regardless of diversity.
The rumor is that they left "Best Actor" for last instead of "Best Picture" because they were so sure Bozeman would win it and it would be a "moving end" to the ceremony.
HA! Even he could not watch.

Anthony Hopkins on Why He Doesn’t Talk About Politics:
‘Actors Are Pretty Stupid’!!!
In a conversation with fellow actor Brad Pitt for a lengthy chat for Interview magazine, Anthony Hopkins explained why he seldom — actually: never — talks about politics... and why he’s not a big fan of other actors talking about politics either. In short: “Actors are pretty stupid.”
“People ask me questions about present situations in life, and I say, ‘I don’t know, I’m just an actor,’” Hopkins told Pitt. “ I don’t have any opinions. Actors are pretty stupid. My opinion is not worth anything. There’s no controversy for me, so don’t engage me in it, because I’m not going to participate.”

They were idolized and treated as leaders; their opinions were sought on everything and they took themselves just as seriously — after all, if an athlete/entertainer is paid a million or more a year, he/she knows he/she is important … so his/her opinions of foreign affairs and domestic policies must be important, too, even though he/she proves themself to be both ignorant and sub literate every time he/she opens their mouth. (Most of his/her fans were just as ignorant and unlettered; the disease was spreading.)”
