The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs “says a plan has been drawn up to rapidly fly all 18,000 [Afghan] interpreters to safety - but the White House has pushed back against his call to use it.”
Which makes anything Biden says at Arlington mere empty platitudes.
I’ve been up since 5 watching the news and have not heard this mentioned.
Wonder why? Was it not worth mentioning?

@KristySwansonXOI was at Navy this past weekend and the VP of the United States of America (Kamala) gave a super bad delivery speech.

President Joe Biden honored America’s war dead at Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day by laying a wreath at the hallowed burial ground. Biden was joined by first lady Jill Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and second gentleman Doug Emhoff.
There was no way I watched that commie imposter lay the wreath today.
Love that!
Ditto that! Somebody better tell Kamala.
“Strategic Developments /Deployments -
The one looming crisis that still hasn’t seemed to garner the attention of the White House to any significant degree is the fate of an estimated 18,000 interpreters and other natives who have assisted the United States and other NATO forces for decades. This week, General Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, created an awkward conflict between the military and Biden’s White House when he spoke out on the subject. The General notes that we are running out of time and he could get all of those people out of the country if ordered to do so, but it’s not up to him. (Fox News)
NOTE - These translators are marked for death. Saw that with Iraq and Vietnam and it looks like its about to repeat itself again.”

VP Kamala Harris’ Naval Academy commencement speech revealed a strikingly different vision for America’s armed forces than Academy speeches by her two VP predecessors, Mike Pence and Joe Biden. Link: Kamala Harris’ Navy.

Kamala Harris’s Navy
Vice President Kamala Harris delivered the commencement address at the U.S. Naval Academy on Friday. Few in the press paid much attention to what she said. If they had, they would have heard Harris give voice to a vision for America’s armed forces that is strikingly different from previous administrations, both Republican and Democratic.
Harris told the graduating class that the COVID pandemic has changed the world, much as Pearl Harbor, and the Civil Rights Act, and the fall of the Berlin Wall changed the world in the past. Today’s situation presents new threats, Harris explained. “A deadly pandemic can spread throughout the globe in just a matter of months. A gang of hackers can disrupt the fuel supply of a whole seaboard. One country’s carbon emissions can threaten the sustainability of the whole earth.”
“The challenge before us now,” Harris said, “is how to mount a modern defense to these modern threats.”
Harris told the graduates they should excel at pursuits like developing artificial intelligence, robotics, and other technologies. Military expertise proved quite valuable during the pandemic, she said, noting, for example, that “naval researchers figured out how to use 3D knitting machines to make masks.”
But Harris paid particular attention to “a very real threat to our national security” — climate change. “You are ocean engineers who will help navigate ships through thinning ice,” Harris said, in her only acknowledgment that the Navy has any sort of relationship with the world’s oceans. “You are mechanical engineers who will help reinforce sinking bases. You are electrical engineers who will soon help convert solar and wind energy into power, convert solar and wind energy into combat power. And just ask any Marine today, would she rather carry 20 pounds of batteries or a rolled-up solar panel? And I am positive she will tell you a solar panel, and so would he.”

Artificial intelligence and robotics without electricity? Oh wait. A few will have electricity while others are rationed.
I could teach them how to walk on thin ice while looking like a squirrel trying to cross a freeway.
LOL!!
Morning, Pax!
How’s the packing going?
