” I suspect Pence was brought on to help a little with the evangelical vote.”
I thought so too. In 2016. Trump turned out to be the most pro life President we ever had.
Donald J. Trump

So now even our Kentucky Derby winner, Medina Spirit, is a junky. This is emblematic of what is happening to our Country. The whole world is laughing at us as we go to hell on our Borders, our fake Presidential Election, and everywhere else!

Is this an act of war?
I never knew much about Pence but just his demeanor wasn’t exciting. I really don’t have anything against that albino thing he has going. But he did seem pretty colorless next to trump. Not even Complementary, like in a calmer way. Just kind of like you both said, seemed too much like a politician and malleable. We’ve had way too many of those. But mainly it was the GOPe wanting him that made me suspicious.
And all the nice things Trump has said over him over four years, that’s just trumps way. He gets the best out of people and that’s how he does it. But I think a lot of what he said was just projecting, and hoping.
I totally concur. If one looks at the various scoring metrics, there are several men and women across the GOP in Congress that score 100% and or an A rating when it comes to voting on conservative or MAGA issues. Most of them would serve our country in as good of a capacity if not better than Elaine Stefanik. Unfortunately, I am not in a position to make the decision. Kevin McCarthy is in the driver’s seat, although he is a weak leader as far as I am concerned. I wish for him to be replaced in the 2022 sessions, should the GOP win back the House. I have little confidence in the idea that the stupid party is capable of reforming itself, let alone willing to do so should they win a majority.
I don’t know what the president means by this....why is the winner of the KD a junky? And what does that mean?
Busted doing drugs.
Tested positive for drugs.
Oh no! Well now how silly is that? Are we talking about the horse or the rider?
The horse. As if the horse took them itself!!!!!
Lol I didn’t know who or what had the drugs in their/its system. It could have been either, or both. Pretty silly move - assuming they always run tests.
I agree with you. The GOP is going by the Democrat playbook and looking for a woman to replace a woman instead of looking for the best qualified person.
It happens a lot with horseracing. States had different rules all over the place, and they have national rules out now but hasn’t gone into effect yet.
I hope they find out who administered them to the horse and they go to jail.
Poor horse.
I would imagine stimulating drugs could do great harm or even kill a horse after running full tilt. Terrible.
Medina Spirit’s victory gave Baffert his seventh Kentucky Derby win, breaking a tie with Ben Jones for the most by a trainer in the race’s 147-year history.
But the Hall of Fame trainer has spent much of the past year battling state racing commissions and has been fined four times for medication infractions in the past 12 months.
Last month, the Arkansas Racing Commission voted unanimously to lift Baffert’s 15-day suspension and restore the placings of his two horses (Charlatan and Gamine) that tested positive for lidocaine on Arkansas Derby day last year.
It marked the third time in three months Baffert had emerged virtually unscathed in drug cases before state commissions. Previously, the California Horse Racing Board had upheld Justify’s controversial 2018 Santa Anita Derby victory and the KHRC had used its discretion in sparing Baffert a suspension for Gamine’s positive test following last year’s Kentucky Oaks.
Baffert has consistently denied any wrongdoing.
“I do not feel safe to train, and it’s getting worse,” he said. “How do I move forward from this, knowing something like this can happen? It’s a complete injustice. But I’m going to fight it tooth and nail because I owe it to the horse, I owe it to the owner and I owe it to our industry. Our industry needs to step up, and we need to do a better job in racing. …
“I’m not a conspiracy (theorist). Everybody’s not out to get me. But there’s definitely something wrong. Why is it happening to me? There are problems in racing, but it’s not Bob Baffert.”
Any updates on you move / timeline?
Hi cs....
House goes on the market in the morning, so I have to spend the next week trying to be out all day lol. I’ll take my car in for detailing, maybe make my first trip of the season to the cottage (it’s been soooo cold) and spend the rest of the days schooling at the farm. Offers will be looked at next Monday, the 17th. Hopefully we get a few good ones....are at least one that will work as far as price, conditions and closing date.
On the bright side, got rid of SO MUCH NEEDLESS STUFF! Honestly, we’ve moved boxes of crystal that never get opened, let alone used. The days of wanting a formal dining room with a nice china cabinet to display all the crystal are gone. I have a nice dining room suite that was pretty expensive 12 years ago. It still looks new, and I can’t give the thing away. Same with the crystal. The kids took a few pieces, some of the nicer glasses, decanters, dessert plates.....but for the most part, nobody is interested. I guess everything has its day, and the days of china cabinets and crystal seem to be gone.
Mobile home is due in August now, rather than end of July. I’ve been warned that it could be delayed again and they have no control because, you know, covid. That virus seems to be the reason for everything nowadays. If you say “covid” then you’re beyond questioning and nobody can get annoyed about anything lol. Comes in pretty handy.
Maybe you can’t move out for 6 months due to covid. LOL!!
I don’t like either Mr or Mrs Pence.
Something about Mr Pence always rang PHONEY.
He’s a coward and was a HUGE let down.
I hate that photo of the Pences and Kamala and
her husband yucking it up on the capitol steps
after the swearing in.
*ALARM BELLS*
Mrs Pence ALWAYS looked like she’d rather be ANYWHERE else
than in the presence of the Trumps.
She has that “holier than thou” attiude, and I very
much dislike it.
A member of my family (by marriage) would always say some thing like ‘So, what are “The Catholics” up to these days?”
My response was “I can see that my religion offends you.
Though I respect yours it is not reciprocated, and this conversation is OVER.”
That person took a very sudden interest in the bottom of their teacup.
