“A crowd gathered to watch, with some whipping out their cellphones”
I’ll bet when the rattlesnake jumped and bit the man, some lady in the crowd screamed. In the movies, somebody always screams, as though it was a complete shock that a snake would bite a person.

Did he say “Hold my beer” first?

A .22 and bird shot would have done it. A bb gun and a head shot even.

The Animal Officer who responded to remove the snake did end up euthanizing it, because releasing it could have resulted in its going back to the housing development.

If you can’t handle a rattlesnake, how do you go pee?
I carry, not for snakes. I carry in case I have to shoot a dumbass.

The man was bitten near the thumb on his left hand while he apparently attempted to pick up the venomous snake with a pair of barbecue tongsIf you have a tong in both hands is that a pair of tongs or a pair of tongs squared? Just asking for a friend.

If you’re a snake and a Texan is coming after you with BBQ tongs, you might be in trouble.
California...maybe not.

Equipped with tongs that reach about 5 feetMust be log grabbing tongs for a wood fired grill. They probably wouldn't have even grabbed tight enough. Shoulda grabbed a shovel and chopped it's head off.

“We’re gonna need a bigger set of tongs...”
No, not really. This is just one reason why I carry a Walther PPS!

Did he catch the Corona Virus? Would a mask have protected him? Or, if he was wearing one, did it fail him?
