Philippines: Hospital granted a special permit to use Ivermectin for Covid-19 ‘eligible’ to secure FDA approval — Director General Eric Domingo

Philippine Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Director General Eric Domingo said the agency has granted the “compassionate use” of Ivermectin to a certain hospital because it was “eligible” and has passed the requirements.

We will not issue a CSP [compassionate special permit] if the hospital is not eligible,” Domingo said in a Department of Health briefing on Friday, April 9.

That’s why it was given a CSP because the hospital applied and it submitted all the requirements,” he added.

Domingo explained that a doctor or hospital can request for a compassionate special permit (CSP) if a drug is not available in the Philippines but is registered and available in another country, or that a drug is undergoing clinical trial as a treatment for certain illnesses, such as coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

"As long as there is an ongoing Phase 3 clinical trial abroad. This means that it passed testing and ethics boards of universities, as well as research groups and technical experts and they, saw that it can be studied and investigated against COVID-19 then that is enough to qualify for the CSP here” he said.

He clarified that CSP is not a registration nor a marketing authorization.

"the FDA has no guarantee on the quality and efficacy of the drug, especially if the drug is still undergoing clinical trial,” he said.

"But when the doctor requests for a CSP, they will take upon themselves complete responsibility over the product,” he added.

"At first, CSP was only for cancer, HIV/AIDS, and other life-threatening diseases. But since last year we have expanded the CSP to cover COVID-19 and other emerging infectious diseases because we have seen many drugs developed in other countries but not available here,” Domingo said.

On why the FDA did not disclose the name of the hospital that was granted CSP for Ivermectin, Domingo said it was for patient privacy.

"Our patients have privacy. We do not want the public to look for them and besiege them. It’s really for patient privacy,” he said.

RE: This is an over the counter medication that is sold in convenience stores in many countries.

The tragedy in the USA is if you want to use Ivermectin for prophylaxis or treatment of Covid-19, it is going to cost over a hundred dollars depending on the pharmacy, if you can find a doctor to prescribe it.

I found a frontline doctor in Texas (recommended by FLCCC ) who did telemedicine with me and prescribed me three months of prophylaxis. It was filled by my nearest CVS pharmacy.

Forty 3 mg tablets of Ivermectin made by Enbridge Pharmaceuticals ( based in NJ ) costs $172 at CVS in New York. After my insurance paid for part of it, I had to pay $148 out of pocket.

My prescribing doctor told me to use the GoodRx app to see if I can get a significant discount.

Why is the drug not available? It is listed as one of the top essential medicines by the WHO. I’d think in a tropical place it would be even more prevalent, not more restricted.

At this point nobody cares about your stupid bug anymore

take all your stupid stories about COVID-19 and stick them where the sun don’t shine

We’ve had enough of this virus crap for the next hundred years

You’ve been able to keep this in the news now for a year

but at this point ( along time ago actually ).

we know exactly what this thing is
exactly who is vulnerable
how to kill it
and exactly what’s going on

We have the border in complete crisis we have the Democrats trying to shove XYNZ work crap down our throat’s and they’re OBVIOUSLY using the virus as one of their weapons

We need to take that weapon away immediately

Ignore them completely

I turn off the radio as soon as I hear anything to do with it

If you don’t mind answering: Do you take it as prophylactic or just storing it for emergency? And if the former what’s the regimen your doctor prescribed for you? 2 tablets on day one, then 1-2 per week? Something like that.

I know the FLCCC website has their dosage protocol mg/kg, just curious what the doctor recommended and what your intention is.

I’m a first responder over 60 waiting on a vaccine (that I’m not too keen on) so taking Ivermectin as a prophylactic.

Taking 9 mg/week but I’m a 100 pounder.

I think you have to look at your risks. Age, weight, race, other diseases that can make you more vulnerable.

Done alot of reading on this. Taking D3, C, quercetin, zinc, a multi vitamin and Ivermectin.

Like this better than getting a vaccine. (Though I’m sick and tired of washing my hands every 10-15 minutes!)

I Don’t have Covid so I’m taking it as a prophylactic.

I have 40, 3mg tablets that’s good for three months.

My doctor’s instructions are:

5 tablets all at once after a full meal, not empty stomach, on days 1 and 3.

Then, 5 tablets together every 14 days thereafter.

I asked him if there are any serious sude effects to taking 5 tablets all at once and he said it’s extremely rare. Bottom line is, it’s safe.

Just FYI I’m taking all that (D3, C, quercetin, zinc) and a few other things perhaps unrelated to covid, plus BP and cholesterol meds and some supplements related to them (CoQ-10, DHA, Vitamin A & E etc). Just not taking Ivermectin. Haven’t really looked for it, though I know you can get the farm animal paste version fairly easily. Know a few who bought some and stashed it away “just in case” but calculating the dosage might get tricky for people.

I take 500mg Quercetin and 50mg zinc twice a day, the others once a day. Some in the AM some in the PM since I don’t know how much the body can process all at the same time.

What’s the reason for the wait? Just not to keen on getting it or logistical issues?

Both.

Went today to refill my ivermectin rx from the same CVS that I filled the first one at. They are now giving vaccines there and the pharmacist refused to fill it this time. (What a surprise)

Argued with her but it was like arguing with an Indian version of Jen Psaki!!

Mind boggling that pharmacists can refuse to fill a medication.

I had a pretty severe accident that caused nerve damage in my arm. The specialists said “don’t worry the nerve will grow back it will just take about 18 months” but wrote me a prescription for Neurontin. She gave me a very complicated dosing regimen like “week one, one pill in the AM. Week 2, one in the AM one in the PM. Week 3, 2 in the AM and one in the PM etc”. She wrote it all out for me and said “I’m not going to tell the pharmacist all this I’m just gonna write “2 tablets 2x daily but ignore what it says on the bottle and follow this”. I ended up not taking the medication, but sometimes doctors have to “trick” the pharmacists.

Your doctor should tell them you have tapeworms or something LOL.

They filled the script a month before so when she asked me if I was using it as a Covid preventative I said yes.

When she told me we can’t give it to me for that. I said to the pharmacist “I have worms.” LOL.

She said an Ophthalmologist (my friend that wrote the script) wouldn’t write a script for worms.

I named a worm that does show up in the eye. (I did some undergrad research on a racoon worm that can show up in a person’s eye) And she said never heard of it and dismissed me.

I’ve never been this angry with a stranger and I showed it. First time I ever raised my voice in public. I’m fed up with being bullied.

This was just follow the money.

Looking back when she asked me why I’m taking it I should have replied “Have you ever heard of HIPAA?”

My script said “use as directed”
