Cool painting, huh? Supposedly, despite what the url implies, this is actually a photograph made by photographer Frans Lanting taken in Namibia, showing a sand dune tinted orange by the morning sun amidst camel thorn trees.

Good Morning!
Crocuses are up here in the Frozen Nawth Country! :-)

Sorry, you'll have to copy and paste these. I don't know how else to post an .mp4 file, even to just make the darned things clickable.

That is a beautiful picture! Setting that appeals to the photographer in me.
Yesterday I got to take some baby pix with a lady who modeled for me 2 months ago when she was 7 months pregnant (she then.had her cute little boy a month early.)
I sent her a few of the images last night and she already has one picked put for framing (mom and son smiling face to face) so today I have do some real editing on the laptop with the high resolution version.
But I am about to get a cup of coffee in me and then hit the garden for a few hours.
Have a great Saturday everyone.

I live in Florida.
Many years ago some neighbors had a persimmon tree which died a few years after I moved down here.
The persimmons I used to be able to buy came from California. The store that I bought them from went out of business from Covid and competition.
To: mosesdapoet
Persimmons have to be mushy ripe to be edible.
I suspect that store purchase of nearly ripe fruit is the best option.

I live in the Sarasota, FL area and the trees of gold are in bloom.
The bright yellow blossoms are fairly short-lived. The leaves are a problem and the tree is very weak structurally. The last hurricane destroyed one of my trees.

It can be a challenge to find certain ripe fruits at a grocery store. I haven’t bought a pear or peach or nectarine in ages.

Tree guy is due today to take down the ash trees I planted 35 years ago - all three - that provide the only shade for the house in late afternoon. The emerald ash borers won. It is dreary and misting, so he may not show. It is kind of dreary and misting inside the house, too. I am too old to look forward to another nice canopy taking shape there.
