FBI's cozy relations with reporters often backfired, ending with inaccurate scandal stories
justthenews.com ^ | John Solomon

Afew weeks after Donald Trump won the White House, senior officials inside the FBI had their latest heartburn about the news media's coverage of a burgeoning Russia collusion controversy and the lingering Hillary Clinton email scandal.

The bureau had recently terminated its primary informant in the Russia probe Christopher Steele for leaking, and several of its leads about Russia-Trump collusion were falling apart. And inaccurate stories about the two biggest scandals in Washington were cropping up everywhere, even when FBI officials tried to work with reporters.

"Yes, the headline is REALLY misleading," then-FBI deputy counsel Lisa Page wrote a colleague in a text message concerning a New York Times article that day. The text message didn't further identify the article but made clear the article was the result of a bureau overture to reporters that backfired.

Page's colleague reported that another official who saw the headline had "really flipped out," "but then he read the article and was like 'what’s the point?' Which is really a question that answers itself."

"I'm glad it was so superficial," the colleague added. "If they decide to start digging deep, we are screwed on trying to protect some of our stuff related to that case."

Page wrote back saying the article likely was the result of an FBI overture that went awry. "My guess is we 'suggested' a good news story about the Bu," she wrote. "To remind people that we are still the good guys trying to keep America safe and not political operatives who sway elections."MORE AT LINK

So it looks like the CIA/FBI supplied the MSM with whatever talking points they wanted pushed while at the same time the CIA/FBI was routing internal memos and fake complaints saying that the MSM was 'getting it wrong." Chief among the complainers - Peter Strzok. Yeah, he just HATED how the MSM made Trump look guilty. Good thing for the FBI/CIA they were absolutely HELPLESS to stop the lies, why they couldn't even step in front of a microphone and exonerate PResident Trump, now could they?

John Solomon is the best investigative reporter in America.

Too bad only a handful of us care.

The story of Crossfire Hurricane and its associated schemes is like the Hunter Biden laptop. If the media, congress, DOJ, and the courts are all okay with this we no longer have any institutions to safeguard us. If they can do this to a President and administration what can they do to you?

To add insult to injury, it will happen again and again because it is profitable. Watch and see.... the bureau will get everything they request in budget and authority and most of those who participated in the scheme with Comey got high paying and lucrative part-time jobs in the swamp.

Crime pays!

Circa March 2019-----Here's What Lisa Page Had to Say About That FBI 'Insurance Policy'
Townhall.com ^ | March 13, 2019 | Katie Pavlich / FR Posted by Kaslin

Former FBI attorney Lisa Page, who conspired with fired FBI agent Peter Strzok to stop Donald Trump if he won the presidency, testified in front of a closed door session on Capitol Hill last year. Now her testimony has been released, showing the extent to which the duo was willing to go with their efforts. It reveals the "insurance policy" discussed in text messages was likely Robert Mueller's Special Counsel investigation.

"If he is not elected, then, to the extent that the Russians were colluding with members of his team, we're still going to investigate that even without him being President, because any time the Russians do anything with a U.S. person, we care, and it's very serious to us," Page said about her thinking under questioning from former Congressman Trey Gowdy.

"But if he becomes President, that totally changes the game because now he is President of the United States. He's going to immediately start receiving classified briefings. He's going to be exposed to the most sensitive secrets imaginable. And if there is somebody on his team who wittingly or unwittingly is working with the Russians, that is super serious."

Text messages found between Page and Strzok, with whom she was having an affair, discuss a meeting in fired Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe's office to go over an "insurance policy." A number of other messages showed Strzok and Page repeatedly slamming Trump and his supporters while favoring the election of Hillary Clinton. Further, her testimony reveals there was no evidence of collusion at the time the Special Counsel investigation was launched in May 2017. Nearly two years later, there is still no evidence.

The newly released transcripts of my interview with Lisa Page indicate that Peter Strzok had no evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia prior to the launch of the FBI and special counsel investigations into the matter. pic.twitter.com/Mt8SChdocI— John Ratcliffe (@RepRatcliffe) March 13, 2019

As a reminder, the Department of Justice Inspector General found the anti-Trump messages exchanged between Page and Strzok to be deeply troubling. From a report released in August 2018: "During the course of the review, the OIG discovered text messages and instant messages between some FBI employees on the investigative team, conducted using FBI mobile devices and computers, that expressed statements of hostility toward then candidate Donald Trump and statements of support for then candidate Clinton," the report states. "We were deeply troubled by text messages exchanged between Strzok and Page that potentially indicated or created the appearance that investigative decisions were impacted by bias or improper considerations."

"Most of the text messages raising such questions pertained to the Russia investigation, which was not a part of this review. Nonetheless, when one senior FBI official, Strzok, who was helping to lead the Russia investigation at the time, conveys in a text message to another senior FBI official, Page, 'No. No he won’t. We’ll stop it' in response to her question '[Trump’s] not ever going to become president, right? Right?!'......

........ " it is not only indicative of the FBI's biased state of mind but, even more seriously, implies a willingness to take official action to impact the presidential candidate’s electoral prospects. This is antithetical to the core values of the FBI and the Department of Justice," the report continues.

Incredible – FBI Blocking Release of Unredacted Text Messages Between Lisa Page and Peter Strzok…
CONSERVATIVE TREEHOUSE ^ | 8/21/2019 | SUNDANCE
FR Posted on 8/22/2019, 1:38:28 AM by bitt

…Every minute spent outraged at what Muller did, is one minute less that Bill Barr is being held accountable for what he is not doing today…

Judicial Watch is fighting for one of the more critical buckets of “declassified documents” from within Spygate that has never made sense.

This goes to the heart of a two-year-long contention:
<><> Why were the Page/Strzok text messages redacted in the first place?
<><>Why are their unredacted text messages being protected?
<><> Who benefits from this roadblock?

The FBI wants to wait until AFTER the 2020 election to release the Lisa Page and Peter Strzok text messages? Whiskey – Tango – Foxtrot ! Enough. This alone should be like a million warning flares shooting skyward simultaneously for those who demand justice.

These are critical questions. Actually, long-standing and unresolved questions that we have carried for two years. On December 1st, 2017, the day after Michael Flynn signed a coerced guilty plea, the first batch of text messages between Lisa Page and Peter Strzok became public.

Who the hell released them? Why? …and ultimately what national security issue exists that would require them to be redacted?

These are open, non-encrypted, messages – using government phones – between a DOJ lawyer assigned to former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe and FBI Special Agent Peter Strzok.

The content did not travel through protected and/or classified systems. So why were the text messages redacted when they were made public?

It's a shame some people were cheering for Wray, Sessions, Barr, Durham, and Huber while they were busy destroying the fabric of America.

Testimony of ex-FBI atty Lisa Page’s conspiracy with fired FBI agent Peter Strzok to stop Trump reveals the infamous “insurance policy” they discussed in text messages was likely Mueller’s Special Counsel investigation.

PROOF POSITIVE: Mueller was not hired to investigate Trump; he was hired to cover up crimes,
his own and those of his fellow travelers: the elaborate plot to derail the Trump campaign
and when that failed, to orchestrate Trump’s impeachment by any means necessary.

(HAT TIP MAGUA) These are Gestapo tactics under cover of “Special Counsel”:
<><>Making Ivanka and Don Jr. rat out their parents.
<><>Sending a Prussian to break down your door at 5 AM with guns drawn.
<><> 80 innocent people on Nadler’s list-—set to be rounded up like cattle to the slaughter.
These people are Gestapo thugs. Trump told us.....they are not after the president...... they are after us.

Mueller was tasked to cover-up massive crimes by Hillary, the DNC, and Obama and his factotums.
Obama created a police state. The US Intel Apparat was commandeered in the spying operation.

US intel apparat is there to protect the safety and security of Americans——it is not a political tool. Obama and his team used extraordinary underhanded Third World methods to spy on candidate Trump ....and were fixated on preventing his election.

The game plan changed when Trump was elected. They had to oust Trump using any means possible....real or invented.

As Breitbart News reported, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) said the latest batch of text messages between Page and Strzok,
reveal FBI views of Trump were more than just biased, they actually show a dangerous “animus” toward the president.

BREITBART.COM Text messages released this week between disgraced FBI attorney Lisa Page and agent Peter Strzok, show Page saying, “I truly hate” pro-lifers.....and the two discussing shutting down the 2016 March for Life on the national mall.

‘I truly hate these people’: Disgraced FBI agents trashed pro-lifers, wanted to stop March for Life FBI agent Strzok said authorities should lie about a 'snow emergency' so as to 'cancel the permit' for the March for Life. As LifeSiteNews reports, a transcript of the conversation on January 22, 2016 – the day of the March for Life – reveals the conversation between the two:

Strzok: “F*cking marchers making traffic problems.” Page: “Yeah, some extremely offensive video screens set up in front of district. I truly hate these people. No support for the woman who actually has to spend the rest of her life rearing this child, but we care about ‘life.’ Assholes.” Strzok: “And literally I’m the last car thru 4 lights as they shut down Pennsylvania Ave. Hey, I have an idea! Snow emergency, cancel the permit.”

Page and Strzok – both married to other people – were reportedly carrying on an affair.

“It’s not surprising that these people would hate pro-lifers so much that they would want to abuse their authority to cancel the March for Life,” Operation Rescue President Tony Newman told LifeSiteNews. “Given their extreme political bias against those who hold pro-life views, one can only expect them to stoop to criminal conduct.”

Their hatred of pro-lifers was never supposed to become public knowledge.... plus they were doing the bidding of an avid abortion worshippers in the Obama WH.

In one hacked email, Page emailed that "Obama wants to know everything we're doing."

FBI lovebird-turned-songbird Lisa Page's own words tends to confirm suspicions that Mueller's is a cover-up scheme to obscure the Obama admin's criminal use
of the US counter-intelligence apparat to spy on a presidential campaign and then sabotage the presidency that resulted......

The Obama police state must be exposed.....the evidence is overwhelming.

PROOF POSITIVE THAT OBAMA KNEW----Obama’s CYA maneuver of January 3, 2017-——the signing of NSA Data-Sharing Order Section 2.3 by AG Lynch —— is the coupe d’etat to blow out The Deep State. Obama’s after-the-fact ex/order contains some unusual language particularly the convoluted language WRT “The Strategic Delay of Section 2.3 of Obama’s Executive Order 12333”:

NOTE WELL: Prior to the formal signing of Section 2.3, greater latitude ALREADY existed within the White House in regards to collection of information – especially in relation to the Trump Campaign. However, once signed, Section 2.3 granted broad latitude to inter-agency sharing of information.

But by the time Obama’s new executive order was signed on January 3, 2017, all that information was already in the possession of Obama White House.

Thus, Susan Rice’s January 20, 2017 email to herself takes on an even greater significance b/c no one was ever supposed to know about the REAL meaning of Obama’s retroactive CYA.....until Rice stupidly laid it all out in an official email.

==================================================

When Susan Rice stupidly wrote a CYA memo to herself, she inadvertently confessed to a series of crimes that added the time line and inferences about what the outgoing Obama administration illegally concealed from incoming President Trump and his aides. CYA memos are rarely a good idea. Most often, they reveal things the author never intended——ala Susan Rice’s now-infamous email to herself.

SOURCE powerlineblog.com

WHY SUSAN RICE WROTE AN EMAIL TO HERSELF........the extraordinary email Obama’s National Security Advisor Susan Rice wrote to herself at 12:15 on January 20, 2017........within minutes of President Trump’s inauguration must have been her last act, more or less, before she vacated the White House. So obviously the email was important to her. But why would it be important to send an email to herself (the only person copied was one of her aides)?

If you read the email, along with Senator Grassley’s letter to Rice, it is obvious that it is a CYA memo. But the question is, whose A is being C’d? Most attention, so far, has focused on the first two paragraphs of the email, which describe a meeting that occurred around two weeks earlier. The participants included

<><>Barack Obama,

<><>Joe Biden,

<><>James Comey,

<><> Sally Yates–who turns up like a bad penny whenever skulduggery is afoot–

<><>and Rice:

A HUGE RED FLAG---Rice made sure to underscore that Obama began the conversation by stressing his continued commitment to ensuring that every aspect of this issue is handled by the Intelligence and law enforcement communities “by the book”. Rice writes Obama stressed that he is not asking about, initiating or instructing anything from a law enforcement perspective. He reiterated that our law enforcement team needs to proceed as it normally would by the book.

This is pure boilerplate. It represents, obviously, the Obama CYA company line.

But Rice did not write her email to cover Barack Obama’s rear end. If she or anyone else had wanted to document the claim that Obama said to proceed “by the book,” the appropriate course would have been an official memo that copied others who were present and would have gone into the file. (My guess is that such a memo was written, but we haven’t seen it.)

The important part of the email is not the paragraph that purports to exonerate Obama, but the paragraphs that follow: “From a national security perspective, however, President Obama said he wants to be sure that, as we engage with the incoming team, we are mindful to ascertain if there is any reason that we cannot share information fully as it relates to Russia.”

The next paragraph of the email remains classified and has been redacted. The email concludes: The President asked Comey to inform him if anything changes in the next few weeks that should affect how we share classified information with the incoming team. Comey said he would.

CONCLUSION Why did Susan Rice send herself an email purporting to document this part of the meeting? Because she was C’ing her own A. Rice was nervous about the fact that, at the president’s direction, she had failed to “share information fully as it relates to Russia” with President Trump’s incoming national security team. Her actions violated longstanding American tradition. Outgoing administrations have always cooperated in the transition to a new administration, whether of the same or the opposing party, especially on matters relating to national security.

Susan Rice is far from the brightest bulb on the tree, but she was well aware that by concealing facts ostensibly relating to national security from her counterpart in the new administration–General Michael Flynn–she was, at a minimum, violating longstanding civic norms.

If she actually lied to Flynn, she could have been accused of much worse. So Rice wanted to be able to retrieve her email, if she found herself in a sticky situation, and tell the world that she hid relevant facts about Russia from the new administration on Barack Obama’s orders.

What were the secrets that Obama wanted to keep from the new administration? We can easily surmise that the fact that the Steele memo was paid for by the Democratic Party; that the FBI had to some degree collaborated with Steele; that the Clinton campaign had fed some of the fake news in the dossier to Steele; and that Comey’s FBI had used Steele’s fabrications as the basis for FISA warrants to spy on the Trump campaign were among the facts that Obama and his minions didn’t want Michael Flynn and Donald Trump to know.

Susan Rice, we can infer, was told to keep these secrets, and if anyone ever asked why she had failed to disclose them to Michael Flynn and others on Trump’s team, or even lied to those people, she would have the defense that President Obama ordered her to do it.

There may be more to it than this. The redacted paragraph likely contains more information about what it was that Rice wasn’t supposed to tell the Trump team. One of these days, we will learn what was blacked out.

The fact that Michael Flynn was Susan Rice’s counterpart in the incoming administration may also be significant. We know that the FBI agents who interviewed General Flynn–even Peter Strzok!–reported that they didn’t think he had lied about anything. And yet, Obama’s DOJ and Bob Mueller’s “investigation”–basically a continuation of Obama’s corrupt Department of Justice under another, less accountable name–persecuted Flynn to the point where he finally pled guilty to a single count of lying to the FBI in order, as he says, to end the madness and the financial drain.

Why were the Democrats so determined to discredit General Flynn? Perhaps because they wanted to pre-empt any outrage that may otherwise have followed on revelations that the Obama administration’s National Security Advisor hid important facts from her successor during the transition, and may have lied to him about those facts, in violation of all American tradition.

A normal day in the Obama police state. Susan Rice gets her orders from the commandant.

The FBI is an agency that has outlived its purpose. State and local police agencies have the internet and radio to coordinate investigations of interstate criminals; the Federal courts have the US Marshals, the park service has its own police, the military its own police, and so forth. There is no need for a Federal police force that only does political hit jobs on Republicans and abuses the law. Disband it. It is not the 1930s anymore.
