Liberties at risk: 1.Right to refuse medicine (a vaccine) 2.Right to not wear protective clothing (a mask) 3.Right to free movement 4.Right to not supply medical records to third parties (vaccine passport or immunity documentation) 5.Right of a parent to decide was is medically best for their children 6.Right of a business to decide who is allowed to be its customer (masks upon entry) 7.Freedom of association (can’t be within 6 feet of someone else)
Additionally, any society who willingly relinquishes fundamental rights unwittingly also demonstrates to tyrants that they are willing to give up other rights in the future. Instead of rights being something that can never be stripped away, rights instead become something that the government can take away without an issue as long as they have a pretense for doing so. And they will always find a pretense.
The restrictions will be unjustifiable, but TPTB in blue states will still insist on them. Especially on airplanes. Those mask mandates by the Karens will stay in place forever now. Gotta protect us from the next pathogen Communist China passes around, doncha know.
If this is endemic then cases will climb every winter...I won’t care but policy makers who hate freedom will.
My view of his prediction (there’s an excellently crafted chart there) is that anti-restriction sentiment will explode next month: drastically falling deaths, hosps, and cases combined with “Spring fever”.

It was about an election, not a virus, and regaining control over our health choice$$, and our very lives.
The scroll function of my mouse keeps having crazy spells that prevent me from doing much. Couldn’t even finish the Bloomberg article.
Of course by the time of the article Gu was already well-known and acknowledged and ‘newsworthy’. Bloomberg does occasionally run some news along with it’s propaganda...
A “flubro” could focus on Gu’s model’s success at predicting *reported deaths* which many seem to think inaccurate of the real situation.
Also. because of the nature of machine learning, now that the dynamics have changed (cases falling instead of rising) his model likely overestimates future deaths.
We’ll see.

do try and keep up, please; the OP is pointing out this virus is no more lethal than other influenza outbreaks in our history, during which at no time did governments crash their economies to deal with them...
everybody and his mee-maw (those that haven’t expired from covid yet) know that influenza and coronavirus are two separate animals...
